When did the total number heading for northern increase to 20?
It was a month or two ago from memory

When did the total number heading for northern increase to 20?
Does anybody know what is happening to the 319/2 arguably the best in the fleet?
Thanks are unit numbers known for the following:
Northern
On loan to Thameslink due to Southeastern taking 377s
Remaining with Thaneslink on the Wimbledon loop
Heading for LM
Probably best not to mention 350 reliability in a thread relating to units being used in the North West: http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=103082

I think that's the issue. 323s operate out of Manchester and they are an improvement on the 1980s designs so some people will be unhappy that their line gets 319s while other lines have 323s, even if the 319s are better than what was previously used. Of course, that's not exclusive to 319s or EMUs though.
At present the 319s haven't really been challenged - they are just doing what 75mph DMUs have been doing for years. I saw a post elsewhere where someone asked if Liverpool-Warrington-Manchester gets electrified in CP6 could stoppers call at more stations without the stoppers getting in the way of express services, giving stations like Glazebrook, Trafford Park and Humphrey Park a decent service. That's really the sort of thing we should be aiming for with electrification considering a selling point is faster acceleration.
The PEP designs' lack of toilets wouldn't be so much of an issue if faster services were available at interchange stations.
Any hints or tips how I might find one this afternoon? Still just the two out?
Still just the two out there. Should be on....
0616,0716,0916,1215,1416,1516,1713,1814 Liverpool-Man Air and 0735,0840,1040,1340,1540,1640,1840,1940 Man Air-Liverpool
1416/1713 and return are DMU's.
I'm aboard the 1516 LIV - MIA. Couple of issues with the primitive-ish PIS, including '...please as your conductor as he passes through the train Smoking,...'. Also a bit strange that it announces it as a Northern Electrics service. I'm generally of the view that marketing and passenger information should be kept separate!
Otherwise looking forward to the ride whoever asked before it looks to me like new anti-scratch film has been applied.
Neil the light is nice and warm yellow on 363 not like FGW HST particularly.
Whoever said about the door handles being ratger broken and difficult to open and close I agree they're in need of replacement doors in some cases judging by some of them!
"Please take all your personal belongings and hand luggage with you." - since when do Railway passengers have check-in luggage!?
Does anyone else thibk the auto-announcer sounds like on the Central line? Maybe again it's to do with the primitive ish nature ofbtje speakers? The voice wave patterns are also really really badly aligned for some announcements.
Nice and fast up the hill from Wavertree, 85 through Broad Green and coming up for 90 around Huyton. Definitely made it there by the Motorway bridge for an unbelievably satisfying sprint to St Helens Jn.
anybody got the 319 diagrams for tomorrow please?
I have spotted a 156 on the 1804 Chester - Manchester via Stockport which should please Jcollins
Significant relative comfort compared to the 319 run I'm afraid :/
....Unfortunately every "station stop" gets "this is a Northern Electrics service", "remember to collect all your baggage" and "take care when leaving the train" nonsense.....
anybody got the 319 diagrams for tomorrow please?
Don't trouble yourself, 319's not booked to run on a weekend!Time to go 319 hunting next weekend when in Manchester
Will the 323s (and the 321s/322s/333s around Leeds) be rebranded as "Northern Electrics"?

I assume this is temporary, until there are enough units in traffic, crews trained, etc.?
I think it's wigan and Manchester crewes that need to be trained
