]156444 was on Whitby today. Noticed the directions to the toilet stickers are sending people in the wrong direction.View attachment 31968

I noticed a similar error on one of the Neville Hill 32x a while back- the new toilet is in one of the driving cars but some of the old stickers still directed people towards the middle of the train, even in the vehicle with the new loo. It just smacks of "can't be bothered" to me.

Who???? Northern???? Can't be bothered attitude

If you're ever on Class 323s of Northern take a look at the advertising poster cases for evidence of a lack of attention to detail.

Well, I did say can't be bothered, but having just had one of the part-refurbished 158s I must say I'm very impressed. The new seat cushions are just firm enough (though that's obviously subjective) and the layout of the disabled area is well designed as far as I can tell. One of the most impressive features is very simple:- painting the vestibules white makes them seem far less claustrophobic than the old grey. It does show up scuffs and marks though!

Is 156479 still up at Springburn? If so is there any likely date for its return?

It was working yesterday on the Durham Coast. Has had toilet modifications but retains the old livery.

Hopefully it makes its way back down here soon, that's one of the two Northern 156s I still need for a ride.

Not sure if its been reported yet but just come across a photo on Flickr of 319456 in the full new Northern livery

I think that looks alright but I'm not sure on the size of the Northern logos, they look a bit too big to me.

Both 156s covering 142 diagrams on Saltburn-Darlington/Bishop today. One 156 is fairly rare on there, two is very, what's the chances of it being the two refurbed ones?! :o

156479 was on Saltburn services today. There was a refurbished one on the coast today, didn't see the number. 156471 has been around the NE now for around four weeks despite it being an Allerton example so may have been that one?

Via Doncaster! I wonder what's up with using the s and c and why 2 trips rather than coupling them together.
Perhaps the 155 which has been at brodies since 30 April 16 is returning.

The ROG drivers must not sign the S&C and the route via Micklefield is closed for the weekend so the only route is via Doncaster

319369 returned to Allerton from Wolverton today. Strangely it is unbranded when the one that went to Brush a week or so ago was fully branded.

Noticed a path on rtt for a 158 from to Brush Loughborough at 12.15. Preston crash victim perhaps.

Does that mean Northern have changed contractors for the 158 refresh perhaps.
K

No, the C6/PRM contracts are arranged by the leasing companies
Porterbrook gave their 158 contract to Brodies (Kilmarnock) and Angel gave theirs to Wabtec(Loughborough)

Slightly O/T - I've noticed more stickers being applied to the Northern 323s (none of which are refurbished yet). 'Teeth' stickers on inside and outside of doors, 'Mind the gap' on inside and outside of doors (the one inside is hidden when the door is open, somewhat limiting its effectiveness), and 2? new stickers for the bins - one on the flap, and one above pointing at the flap.
