Running through OTT for a Thursday in September, further on from my post above this is what the off-peak looks like:

1A xx01-xx15 Leeds term
1B xx53-xx18 Matlock term
1C xx30-xx34 Norwich thru
2 xx23-xx45 Skegness term
3A xx44-xx55 RHL term
4 xx14-xx17 Lincoln thru
also xx36-xx45 LLS thru
5A xx19-xx25 RHL term
5B xx05-xx37 Birmingham XC term
7 xx59-xx28 London fast term
also xx31-xx32 Leicester stop thru

Unfortunately it appears that the two ECS shunts to Eastcroft will continue:
the xx3x XC arrival on 1C or 3C to 6B, and
the xx26 222 arrival on platform 6A to 6A again.

If I'm honest I am slightly disappointed that you've got the likes of the Matlock train still using a through platform for example. I'm most upset that they still feel the need to ECS shunt when in theory you should have less reason to now. This still feels too much like the old pattern and I hope in time that timings will change and capacity will get better as the new system beds in. Otherwise if this is how it will look long term it's quite upsetting really, with trains still cutting across two/three lines at the entrance to get to a platform.

Timetable changes will probably when major things like that are done.

This upsets you? One can only assume that you don't have children!

Well it looks like there's going to be a phased introduction of services on Monday morning. I'm in the interesting position of having to catch the 06.00 Sheffield - Nottingham (Northern Rail) on Monday which is listed as running. Let's hope this is actually the case.

BBC News have a story on the completion of the work:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-23809658

Network Rail is running test trains into Nottingham Station at the weekend to monitor new signals and other equipment installed as part of a £100m upgrade.

The railway station has been closed to most services for the past five weeks during the work.

Network Rail said the station will reopen as planned on Monday.

Six miles (9.7km) of track, 143 signals and an extra platform were fitted by 750 workers during the project.

Anyone know exactly WHAT is running Monday morning out of Nottingham?
I was going to pick up the 0605 Nottingham to Worksop at Bulwell but now find no trains until 0825.
Lincoln isn't starting til after 8am, Grantham til after 0630. Sheffield is normal.

National Rail shows some cancellations early due to engineering works but doesn't show any alterations due to engineering on the Robin Hood Line. Anyone know what is going on?

Thanks

Mitch

Hi Mitch, this link should help you:
http://www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk/Global/Eng Summary for Web Wk21 and 22.pdf

This doesn't cover CrossCountry or Northern services though.

CalderRail said:
Monday is august bank hol, so I assume it's Sunday timetable?

No it's a normal Monday service on the railways, with a few exceptions.

You asked for what is running. Agreed it does'nt say why if not running but any variations tomorrow could be a combination of start up after Engineering Work and Bank Holiday variations. Bank Holiday would be a normal service, although with some reductions perhaps, but not a Sunday service.

No offence meant but I was after a simple list rather than having to hunt through arrivals/departures.
Network Rail have a list of early morning cancellations on their engineering works page but with no mention of the Lincoln & Robin Hood Lines. The info is on the EMT website (if you know where to look) and has obviously been missed from Network Rail. I would have thought that the Network Rail site should have had a complete list as the national authoriy!
Aren't normal Bank Holiday non runners usually shown with a BHX code in the timetable!

I travelled from London to Nottingham today and everything seemed to be running smoothly (and no being held outside!). The main physical change I noticed was what is now platform 7 (formerly 6) and the construction of a new canopy for the platform.

Coincidence or related to the recent work?

From http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/57016.aspx

Incident created 26/08/2013 18:27
Last updated 26/08/2013 18:29
Route affected All routes to, from and through Nottingham

A problem with lineside equipment is causing disruption near Nottingham.

Because of this, there are delays of up to 25 minutes on journeys to, from and through the station. There is no current estimate for when a normal service will resume.

bit of a cock up with the 9.02 ex Nottingham which didn't stop at Beeston this morning (bank hol mon), but whizzed past at 9.07 (normally departs 9.08). the narrative being given to punters was to blame the driver. But maybe there's more to it..

Perhaps a period spent on The Station Code quiz on the quizzes and games forum thread may be of use here ?

I think the OP was using RHL as an abbreviation for Robin Hood Line. But on the other hand, maybe he has had a premonition about some new services :D

Maybe, but I reckon that's one thing that we definitely can't blame on the resignalling!

A freight train has derailed near Carlton.
Because of this, buses are replacing trains between Nottingham and Lincoln Central. Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes. There is no current estimate for when a normal service will resume.
Twitter hashtag: #Carlton
Alternative routes where tickets will be accepted
Passengers may use:
East Coast services between Newark and Grantham
Northern Rail services between Lincoln Central and Sheffield

It is estimated that up to a miles worth of track has been damaged due to this incident and that it will take approximately 5 days to repair. A temporary timetable is being arranged at present. Once we have details of this we will publish the information.

Oh dear... Not a good restart to services east of Nottingham

would that be the Nottingham upgrade works that were handed back on time? That will have been a great shame for some posters.............

Well the media have a story about useless railways now anyway, i am sure they will link it to the recent work.
