Three from today :-

From the excelent "Headhunters" album by Herbie Hancock, the less frequently played 'Vein Melter'

and

Bartok's "Contrasts"; performers include Benny Goodman and Bela Bartok himself. Sadly, none of the YouTube clips of this piece performed by Bartok and Goodman can be embedded here, so here's an extract by Yehudi Menuhin:

and

The Eels' This is where it gets good' (they remind me of the fictional band in the film "Frank").

Guided by Voices - Earthquake Glue

funny, I think of this of a substandard GBV album, but really it's better than anything being released at the moment. For all the rock stuff people post on this thread I think these beat them all, even The Who ...

Still one of my favourite albums, and one of Flowers & Co's more underated tracks (along with Midnight Show).

Clouds by Kasabian followed by Down Down (Status Quo) and Sunlight (The Magician) sounded brilliant in the football stadium last night. Even if i do say so myself.

VNV's Album "Empires" came out 15 years ago tomorrow and may have changed me from a gloomy Sisters of Mercy type into an Perky Cybergoth type (though the Pink and Black Dreads and Speed are no more I can still dance all night!)
