Lots of emergency services, NR and police including unmarked cars in the vicinity of Princes Bridge AHB where Andlers Ash Road Liss crosses the line.
Looks like the up18:18 ex Petersfield is involved. Be interesting to know the back story to this especially as, thankfully it seems no one hurt though I expect the driver will have been very shaken. http://www.journeycheck.southwesttrains.co.uk/
"Due to an obstruction on the line between Haslemere and Petersfield all lines are blocked.
Impact:
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 mins or diverted via Eastleigh. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Customer Advice:
Emergency services have been called to an incident involving a train and a road vehicle at Princes Bridge level crossing close to Liss station, however we understand there are no reported injuries to anyone on board the train or in the vehicle involved. Response staff and emergency services are taking care of the 20 passengers and staff involved in the incident."

It was the 1645 London Waterloo-Portsmouth Harbour that was involved. The service struck a van on the level crossing. The van had been abandoned so there was a long closure of the line whilst the police conducted their investigations.

According to RTT the first trains after the closure departed Petersfield at 2226 on the up and 2257 on the down.

For info:-

Rail passengers in Hampshire and Surrey are facing "major disruption" after a train hit a car at a level crossing.
The empty car was struck on the line at Liss in Hampshire on Friday evening with services between Petersfield and Haslemere suspended in both directions.
South West Trains said there were "no reported injuries to anyone on board the train".
Disruption is expected until 23:00 and emergency services are taking care of the 20 passengers and staff involved.

Thanks for the correction re the service involved. I passed through the locality twice between 19:30 and 21:00. At 19:30 the police presence was high including unmarked cars. By 21:00 NR seemed to have taken over traffic control and road recovery truck was on scene.

Could have been a lot worse had the train hit the van 'square on' and at linseed (if a fast train which luckily it wasn't assuming it was the 1645hrs) as it was the best part of 3.5t. Luckily it only hit the rear corner and the train driver noticed it (I'm assuming given where it stopped) and hit the brakes.

There have been fatalities there before involving a (IIRC) a Mercedes which was hit at quite a high speed. Train stayed on and sustained minor damage whilst the car sort of disintegrated along with occupants.

And just to add to the poor week that the Portsmouth direct has had, the 16:45 Portsmouth Hbr - Waterloo has collided with a tree near Haslemere and the line is currently blocked.

I think that this incident might make the log.

Glad to hear that someone has been arrested, but what is with the caption under the picture on that article: "A body was discovered on the line near Feltham Station"?

They've copied and pasted from a week or so ago and failed to change the picture caption. Shows the mirror journalism at its best.
