Do any National Rail stations issue printed Oyster statements?

I will need a statement of my journeys tomorrow for expenses and it has to be "official" (i.e. not a printout from the website).

Do they do these at Clapham Junction, East Croydon or Wimbledon?

Wimbledon should be able to as they do London Underground tickets, East Croydon and Clapham, I'm not sure.

East Croydon definitely does. Also, if you request a statement from the website it is sent as a PDF with TfL header etc. Unfortunately the website seems to have problems at the moment so I can't check.

That's great both of you. Gives me a chance to get a statement on the way home to Pompey, regardless of which route I take.

Unfortunately the email statement won't do. Has to be "original tickets" only, but they'll only pay for the cheapest option (i.e. Oyster)...!

Not 100% sure but I doubt Clapham Junction does. But then there's enough people here who work around Clapham Junction so someone should be able to give a definitive answer.

Well good luck deciphering the journey history from the card. My experience of that system is poor where some stations (esp Nat Rail ones) are shown by their NLC number. In comparison the printer friendly output from journey history online has the TfL and Oyster logos and TfL's address and is designed to appear like a letter. You can also now set up to receive auto statements every week or month in either PDF, CSV or both.

I've got a printout for the same journey from a LUL office last week and it appeared with the full names, so fingers crossed it should be the same from East Croydon.

My previous employer was like that; would accept 'original tickets only'. Until I gave them the choice - accept the website printout, or I'll revert to paying cash fares...

This is expenses that they are generously offering to pay for travelling to an interview, so I don't want to upset them yet

Been there,

Barriers swallow tickets and sometimes when I ask if I can keep it I am told I should have asked for a receipt. Now receipts don't show which stations you have used, so my employer was once informed that they could either accept receipts without details of the relevant stations, or I would revert to asking for a travel warrant in advance and they would loss the discount my railcard procures. After which, and when considering the difference that could make at 07:30 in the morning they stopped requesting actual tickets instead of receipts.

The guy at Waterloo last week said "they don't eat anything here" when I asked to be let through. He let me out with his pass anyway.

No they won't eat London Terminals tickets (despite what some staff at PMS seem to think) as you might want to go to Charing Cross/ London Bridge etc.

But what about SWT AP's to London, I though they were only valid to Waterloo?

One of my colleagues took a photo of the Oyster history on an LU machine. It was accepted.

Does East Croydon have FasTIS Terminals compared to the Shere SMART ones used across the Southern network (and legacy stations managed by London Overground)?

East Croydon has a single LU terminal at one end of the booking office which they use to carry out Oyster requests. I've picked up history printouts there on more than one occasion. Just go to the next available window and they'll take your card to the other machine.

Interesting aside: Southeastern seems to be equipping its booking offices with handheld Oyster readers. Someone came into my local station this morning complaining his Oyster card wouldn't touch in, and I was expecting the clerk to say "nothing to do with us mate, you'll have to phone up", but he scanned the card and told the chap "you've got a z1-2 Travelcard and no credit, and this is zone 3, you'll need to top up on the machine outside".

I worked in a National Rail ticket office, we had handheld readers and the Fastis+ Oyster machine. Handy for printouts and voiding/resolving incomplete journeys.

Well I have to say I'm impressed with the auto statement. I set it up yesterday to email monthly. They said that it is produced a few days after the end of the week/month, presumably to ensure that any late data (e.g. bus journeys) has arrived on the database. This morning I received a statement for September as a pdf file in email. A printed, redacted and rescanned image is included below for anyone who wants to see the layout.

The London Overground stations south of New Cross Gate which don't have FasTIS also have the handheld readers inside the ticket office.

Interesting, Mike. Yes, I do like the layout.

On Tue 18 Sep, why does an Off-Peak Crayford [National Rail] to Norwood Junction cost £3.40 but an Off-Peak Norwood Junction to Crayford [National Rail] cost £2.30?

National Fares Manual NFM 13 CD shows that in each direction ticket type POP (Oyster PAYG Off-Peak) is £3.40 route LONDON NOT UND. See this brfares page.

I think £2.30 would be the cheaper fare you get by walking between New Cross Gate and New Cross thus avoiding London Bridge, corresponding to the "NOT VIA LONDON" fares available on paper tickets - although on a paper ticket you'd also have the option of changing at Surrey Quays. For some reason these Oyster fares don't seem to have been added to ATOC's fares database (as shown in Avantix/BR Fares).

Spot on Indigo2. Crayford to Norwood Junction is my football trip. As I take my 10 year old to most games I now routinely go via London Bridge, but for evening games I'll walk at New Cross as speed isn't so much of an issue.

I obtained a statement from Wimbledon in the end. Surprised that each counter has a STAR machine AND a LUL machine. Seems a strange arrangement.

Now another question...

If I load a railcard during an OSI, will I receive the discounted fare for the whole journey? Or will this break the OSI?

My journey will be starting at Clapham Junction, so cannot have the discount loaded there.

Really. I was using a ticket for a journey from Basingstoke to Saint Pancras International recently with the ticket duly showing start and destination stations for that journey. The barrier at Waterloo most certainly ate that. However, if I use a Basingstoke to London terminals ticket the ticket is spat out no problem. I hasten to add that if I am travelling to Saint Pancras from Basingstoke I do not use a London Terminals ticket. I am aware it would not be valid hence trying one duly showing Saint Pancras International as the destination.

To answer my own question....

The OSI remained after loading the discount. The main issue was getting to the front of the queue within the 20 minute time allowed. As well as that, the whole journey was charged at the undiscounted price. I've emailed the Oyster helpline to ask for a refund as there were no facilities to load the discount at my starting station.

Another question from me....

Can London Overground (e.g. at Shepherd's Bush) load railcards and provide journey receipts? The reason I ask is that there was no queue at the LO station.

LOROL stations with FasTIS (all stations with the exception of stations on the ELL south of New Cross Gate) can provide a Oyster Usage Statement.
