So, in continuation to last year's thread, we must do the same this year!

I'm very excited to announce that my first train of 2015 was ATW 150217 on the 1053 Pontyclun to Cardiff Central, which was also one of only a few 150s I needed left! So a good start to the year!

Happy new year to you all!

I scored 220008 yesterday.
I'm not a big fan of Voyagers, but I was in Leeds, had a valid ticket and most importantly, it was empty, so I had it to Wakefield, just to tick it off.

Curiously, 220009 has just passed me at Swinton (SWN). The latter being my second new "shack" of the year (Sherburn-tin-Helmet beng the first).

I've never really kept a record of my journeys before, so this year I'll be starting from scratch, hence today's new haulage was as follows:
165113, 165122, 165129, 166208, 168001, 168107, 172102, 220013 and 220030.

Well start as I mean to go on....I hope!

Decided to hit the rail today, but decided to stay local in the Manchester area using the Metrolink and local train services and what a great day I had.

Thinking about the upcoming move of the TPE 170's around May time and seeing I only had two before today I decided to try and knock a few of them off, with great success. 7 copped for haulage so I have now cleared the TPE 170's with a odd few others today as well.:D

I must have used up my SWT winning luck, my 444 hunt didn't go that well this afternoon/evening

In addition to getting lucky with 158885 I managed to get 444015; 444020; 444029 (9 more to get of which 4 are 03-> 06) and 450041 & 450102 (Southampton Central to Basingstoke, a bit of an odd service)

Crikey you've all had a good start to the year! Well done Kite159 on clearing your SWT 158s!

Don't worry. I am not expected to hit the rails for at least a month and half so you probably won't be the last to start off.

Fair enough, I'm glad I'm not the last to start lol. My year won't start with many results as, after Monday, I won't be back on the rails until February 2nd. That trip will be full of winners!

SWT: 444024; 444036 (7 left!); 450009; 450027; 450082; 450119

Last service not on a 159 - SWT 450028/450085/450027 Clapham Junction to Woking [Via Richmond]

I thought it was 450023 on the front of this triplet yesterday - I had them on the 0800 from Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour from Clapham Junction to Guildford.

I managed 387105 and 387111 for haulage yesterday, taking me to six 387s now ridden.

Since the 322s arrived this has become a lot more common. Generally, two 32x are required for the Leeds - Doncaster's and any extra ones are mixed in with the 333s.

As for winners, I got 185141 and 220016 in the book yesterday.
My wife's work assignment was completed last night so there'll be less nipping out to Leeds for me now, still it was quite productive while it lasted.

Kicked off the year with 09106 on the 'Tugging Shedmaster' yesterday. A bit of a disappointing trip, as the 66 which nearly everyone needed (66230) sat on the back of the tour for over two hours and was then taken off and replaced with a 60 (092) which had previously worked a tour only a couple of years ago.

I must have written the 3 down as a 8 in a slight rush :( Still a dud though.

55013 - First time I saw a 321/322 down that route, always good to know they work it along with the 333s [and probably the 319s in future] :)

09106 and 60071 on the 'Tugging Skipmaster' (as the tour was renamed by some participants).
Would have also had 66230 if it hadn't been for the farce with the generator van.

09106, 60071 and 60092 from the 'Tugging Shipmaster'. I'm not sure why they didn't let 66230 run into Crewe and change the loco there or just double head it.

According to one rumour, the DBS traincrews were happy for the 66 to work into Crewe but Network Rail refused. They couldn't double head because of the train length (bearing in mind the 67 at the other end).

My first train of 2015 is a winner

SWT 158885 :)

Well done! Hopefully it will come my way before too long. It's the only SWT unit that I need outright. Other SWT requirements for me are limited to a handful of 444s and 450s which are needed for 10 miles. And I'll need to get all the 458/5s for renumbering - I've got the six "new" build 458/5s.

Well done indeed to Kite159, I will one day know the pleasure of clearing my SWT DMUs when I get 158884. Saving that for my FoSS later in the year!

As for my 2015 red pen action (despite the fact my book is black throughout for uniformity!) I had much less today than I expected, but I've had a good day overall, despite Chiltern's best attempts to annoy me! The results from my first trip of 2015 are in and as follows:

05/01/2015

Midland Metro trams:

04
18
22
23

Total so far in 2015: 4

That's all I got in the end, no required Chiltern 165s found, no winner locos sadly and no winner 350s or 390s were found all day! Very disappointing on the mainline front, and the trip report will explain all when I get it started later or tomorrow.

Has 158880 made its way up to east Midlands land yet?

Hopefully 158884 will be on the rocket when you do your FOSS, or the FGW hire unit.

Fingers crossed! I have no idea when I'm doing my FoSS yet, sometime in 2015 is all I have listed for it yet. Unless it means I can't do the weekender in Ireland or the Northern Lights adventure, in which case it gets postponed until 2016!

Also, I hope you're all ready for the rather long list I already have envisaged for early February! Details will be posted after today's trip report is complete, so I anticipate February's details being announced by the end of the week. In the meantime, all I'll say is roll on 2nd February (and any other trip I can squeeze in in the meantime!) <D

A very busy two days there! I should imagine that's made your books look better somewhat lol.

Oh and I'm jealous you got 11001 on the Tube, I've been after it and the other low numbered ones but I never find them!

As for the photos I'll have a look when I can :)
