They said it wasn't graded and that it was to determine what you get asked in the MMI but seemed like it was irrelevant as the questions are fixed, don't really know why its done as youve already done the online ones at that point haha
Yes it is 3 paper tests and they tell you that in the email they send out. You then move on to DMI if successful at stage 1. If successful at DMI you get invited to sit stage 2 computer tests, SJT & MMI on the same day I believe. As stated previously, if you fail the computer tests, they won’t let you do the MMI. So if you’re lucky enough to reach that stage, it’s just waiting to see if you’ve been successful at MMI.

If the SJT isn’t graded at this stage, why do they even have it there? Just curious as that’s the first I have heard about it not being graded.

Thanks in advance.

Good luck to everyone currently doing their next stages. Still waiting on my first assessment date. Hopefully not much longer

Not everyone has done online assessments? That was only introduced this year. There are still people in the process who applied in 2022.

Fair enough. Seems a bit odd if the questions are already pre determined. Ohh well, appreciate the reply anyway. Thanks.

That would make sense. Maybe graded for those who never sat it online, and not graded for those that have already?

They ask hypothetical questions based on how you answered your sjt (sat 1st thing). These are asked after you expand on your 6 questions (you got to write a sentence on tell me a time when you....then this goes to your interviewer just before the interview). If that makes sense lol

Ahh ok, thanks for the reply. I have heard they ask you MMI questions like that, but I never realised the questions are based on your SJT answers. Thanks for clearing that up. Hopefully I’ll be there soon enough. I’m still waiting for my DMI date.

I hope you hear back some positive news from your MMI soon.

The 6 questions are standard . The theoretical sjt questions are in addition to those 6 standard ones.

I don't know how the theoretical sjt questions really relate as they appear to be another set of random questions but i think its to help them tease out certain behaviours...who knows how it works

The SJT is apparantly used to determine what questions you will be asked if you reach the MMI

Thank you’s both. Hopefully get a date soon. It’ll be 5 weeks on Tuesday since I sat Stage 1 and 5 weeks on Wednesday since I found out I had passed. The wait is killing me now!
I got the met the standards email end of may and still waiting for my 1st assessment date the wait is killing me! Good luck though.

Just sat the 1st assessment. I feel pretty good about it. I gave it my best, which is all I can ask for really.

Now the wait for the pass or fail email.

The wait gets worse once you start sitting the psychometric stages, trust me! Although there’s nothing I can do but try and be as patient as possible and wait until my DMI date is confirmed. I would be happy if they gave me a date 2 months away tbh. Just having the date and knowing would be a massive bonus. I got my initial email regarding stage 1 when I had kind of forgot all about it as I had taken my mind off it. Going to try the same again….

Thank you. GL to you too, when you finally get your chance. I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Congrats! Patently waiting on my DMI result from last week. Were you Assesment 1 on 4th July?
Fingers crossed for you.
Time frame for me, I'm sure varies for everyone,
1st Assessment on 24th June,
DMI 30th July,
2nd Assessment 14th August
It all seems so long when you're waiting 'patiently' lol

Passed my MMI. Delighted!!!! Now another wait for a medical date. My worst fear is being put on reserve pool again.
Congratulations! Also thanks for posting the timescale. Mine is different as you had 5 weeks from Stage 1 to DMI and I am still ‘patiently waiting’ for my DMI date. Sat stage 1 just over 5 weeks ago now. Good timeframe to go on though, so should hopefully hear back soon myself. GL with training.

I've got a medical on Tuesday. It doesn't mention complimentary travel on the email. I've emailed HR to ask, but might not hear back in time. Any thoughts?

The email inviting you to attend the medical is your return ticket.
Have it ready at station's gates and for guard's inspection.
