To be fair to Jazza, there is also other vacancies in the process of being filled outside of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Some of these have now got successful candidates who are just waiting on a course start date so the 40 new trainees will include these people too. Don't forget also that that will be for the second half of this year as there is a course just about finished plus at least 3 other courses been completed this year already.
Good luck to all those who have made it this far. It's no mean feat with the vast numbers applying.

Glad to hear they have the final interview dates now.
Even more that it is in Yoker, this is literally a stones throw from my house.
Does anyone know if this is where the training would be?

Your training will be initially at Atrium court in Waterloo St for about 4 months then you will move to Yoker and be assigned a driving instructor. You will be expected to visit Yoker each week though and pick up your notices.

Good luck to all who made it to interview stage.

Does anyone know how often Scotrail takes on trainees? Is it very rare like once a year, or have there been multiple intakes recently?

Not sure how often Scotrail take on drivers, this is my first attempt at trying so no really sure, booked in for final DM interview on the 15th in Yoker. Not sure why some are in Yoker and some are in Central, GLC wouldve suited me better tbh but hey ho lets go with the flow! good luck to everyone and hoping we can be colleagues in the near future.

I put glasgow down for both options did anyone else do this?

I done this mate, thought it would be best as Edinburgh is a fair jaunt from me and just about within a 45 minute drive! got this far so it obviously never made a difference :)

I'm planning on typing mine. I really don't think it matters as long as it's legible - clearly the content is the most important thing. Whatever you do, make sure the grammar and spelling are spot-on. It would be terrible to lose out because of a minor mistake on it.

Guys a wee tip for you before your interviews. Visit the depots where you are getting interviewed and try and see a DTM who will assist and give you advice on what questions you will be asked. You need to know a lot about the depot and the only way to find out is by visiting. Phone ahead or pop in, it looks good and they will notice you have taken your own time to come and be best prepared for a great job at 42K basic and roughly 3.5 in OT. Good luck

Whereabouts is the train crew depot in Edinburgh? I assume it's on the station somewhere

It's at the East end of the station, just next to platform 4. It's a big stand alone box of a building called the operations depot. I'm sure it's a shared building not just for Scotrail.
Good luck for Wednesday mate - got my fingers crossed for you mate!

Hi guys, can I just ask what the report is in relation to and any further details. I haven't received anything and not sure what you are talking about. I know senshi didn't know but I cannot find the details on the first pages. Any help would be appreciated as my interview is on Thursday. Cheers

300 word report. Prob best to type it. 3 questions. What are the qualities of an ideal train driver? What are the main responsibilities of a train driver? What qualities do you feel you can bring to the role?
