Hi I'm looking for information please on pay and pensions and I cant find it on the thread.

If I may so bold, and please reply privately if that's preferred, what does a trainee take home after deductions, including pension deductions because I would opt in, for that first 12 months?

Training for 12 months based in Glasgow? If so can you claim non rail travel?

Also same question for newly qualified and qualified.

Can anyone confirm 35 hour week and 62 year old retirement age?

Many thanks

Hi, I have 1st Assessment in Glasgow on Monday. Does anyone know if I have to arrange my own ticket. Or will Scotrail send one out?
I have emailed to enquire, but no reply.
Cheers
Your email is your authority to travel, just show them your email. It should say so down the bottom, the staff have seen a lot of them lol.
Just watch it's definitely a Scotrail service

I'm starting my training 28th November. Wonder what the craic will be over the Christmas and New year weeks (Public Hols are Wed and Thurs)

I can't answer your questions regarding pay and pension, but the training is 12 weeks classroom training at Glasgow followed by approx 14 months at your depot

I have my DMI in a couple of weeks. What should I expect on the day and is there anything I should know prior to attending? Thanks.

Why don’t you peruse this wonderful thread, all the info you need is contained most probably in the last 10 pages or so.

Thank you! Hopefully you hear something soon!
Hi how did it go for you ? I’m also Dumfries passed first tests at Atrium court 5 weeks ago and waiting DMI date. Any idea how many positions are potentially going to be available at the depot ? Cheers

Is anyone else who received an email in May advising you've been successful still waiting for their 1st date at Atrium Court?

Just wondering how long people waited to hear if they were successful at DMI? Trying to manage my expectations and not check for emails every 5 minutes as I'll drive myself insane!

I'd be considered Edinburgh and heard last week, was due in atrium today but pulled out. Can't make the finances work, so have withdrawn.

So you had the job ready to start the training but pulled out today?
No not at all, was only for the first tests with obviously no guarantees I would pass. Just letting the person know Im Edinburgh area, so assume it was for there.
A bold move considering you would be bringing in well over £65k a year once qualified.
Yes, it's not that it's a bad salary at all, it's fantastic. but while training it's a big drop for me, and with a family it's harder to make those sacrifices. by the time I'd be qualified I'll have every chance of being on a comparable salary in my career.

I know what you mean about the drop. I'm 15k down, albeit I was paying far more deductions in my previous job. Will be worth it in the end.
