Scotrail Trainee Drivers (Ongoing)

The waiting is driving me insane. I'm slightly different in the order of things. I passed all my tests and interview with the opc with a different provider and I'm in a talent pool with them. Applied to SR and only had the dmi to do. Still not heard anything and I'm desperate to get started. Its been a lifelong dream to do this and the waiting has by far been the hardest part!

Some depots are slower/faster than others to arrange DMIs and it also depends by the number of trainees they need.
Have they acknowledged your psychometrics results and told you to wait for a DMI date for your depot?

I have heard they have a new DM at Edinburgh though, so that might be why I’ve had such a wait. Hopefully we both hear back shortly. GL when DMI finally comes.

If you already had your DMI and waiting the results for more than 3 weeks I would ask for an update to recruitment.

I went through the stage of checking emails etc first month, but since then I am just patiently waiting now. No nerves here as what will be will be. I have a good job I am happy at, so I’m in a no lose situation just now. Ideally I’d like things to move faster, but I knew when I applied I’d likely be in for the long haul.

Anyone who has applied for Edinburgh still waiting to hear of their date for atrium court? I got my met the standard email on 30th May and heard nothing since.

In the same boat, got my met the standard email 28th April and nothing since. I emailed a month or so ago asking if there was any update and got a reply saying they had 1500 candidates to get through and assured me they would be in touch again.

Hi. I’ve been invited for assessment but it’s short notice and I’m working on the day in question. I’ve tried several times to enquire about alternative dates but I’ve had no response. Anyone had similar experience?

Same here, May time.

Mental to see people who applied at the same time and are now getting start dates.

There seems to be no order they are doing it. I remain hopeful that one day they'll send that email through, I'm constantly checking my inbox, surely some time soon

Absolutely the opposite experience for me, I found the DMI cold and intimidating, and the MMI practically an informal chat!

Hi, I sat medical last Tuesday (17th) and I haven’t heard anything back yet. Only concern is they said I should have had contact around 5 days after.

Has anyone else had quite a wait between medical and finding out next steps? Dont want to email right away as I know they have loads of applications to process. Have been through all other stages so this was the last bit.

I had my medical on the 3rd of September and received zero communication from them. I’ve sent a few emails to ask what’s going on and again have had zero response. No idea what’s going on. The place that carried out my medical called me last week and they informed me that I was passed fit for the role and all information was sent to Scotrail

Ah right yeah that’s quite a wait too. Hopefully it’s just down to arranging potential course dates etc. Hopefully get an update soon.

They told me if I didn’t hear back within 3 weeks then I was to email recruitment and find out the result.

I sat my medical on 10th September. I also had to pay for additional tests privately to prove my laser eye surgery is stable and to standard. I've heard nothing back from Scotrail since. So I emailed Optima Health and they confirmed everything had been sent back to the Recruitment Team. I've emailed them to enquire about the next stage last week but so far no reply. I'm getting a bit nervous now as I have a provisional start date of 14th November and I'll need to sort my notice out in a couple of weeks....

It will be your DMI. You sit your MMI if your successful in passing Stage 2 assessments at atrium court on the same day.
