Hi
I’ve got my second assessment day coming up (computerised tests and MMI interview)
I was just trying to gauge the difficulty of the computer tests if anyone has any thoughts or insights into this it would be much appreciated!
I have recently conducted and passed the computerised assessments and MMI. I am just waiting on my medical. Don’t worry about the computerised assessments. You’ll do all three within an hour.
The black squares assessment is about concentration and lasts 30 minutes so make sure you’re comfortable. There is a cheat mode. If someone next to you has started the test seconds before you, listen for them clicking. If they click, you know a black square is coming. If they click but you don’t see anything, you know that have messed up.
The picture assessment isn’t too bad. All the pictures are of a traffic scene. There will be a “beep” to indicate a picture is coming which will last about 1.2 seconds. Each picture will be different and you will be required to lookout for
Pedestrians
Motor vehicles
Motor bike/bicycles
Signs
Traffic lights
When each picture appears, just say what you see in your head. If you do that, you’ll have a better chance of remembering what you saw.
The third assessment is the joy stick. This is judging your hand-eye coordination. Left joy stick moves left and right. The right joy stick moves up and down. I can’t remember how many you have to do, but with each one you complete, you do get better. The joy sticks are sensitive and the red dot which you have to navigate does have a mind of its own sometimes but it’s how you react to that and when the red dot goes out the area which you are judged on.
The MMI is a breeze. With this you’ll be asked about 6 situations for which you have experienced. You need to give an example for each. Don’t write too much, just a brief outline. You’ll then be asked a series of questions for each experience. These are generated from the situational judgment test you did before the assessments. The key is to relax. You’ll be in a 1-1 interview. It’s all relaxed and just take your time. There is no rush. Mine took 2 hours with the amount of questions asked.
And lastly, Good luck.
