Galashiels is also served by a First bus route that serves two different constituent areas of the United Kingdom.

In spite of being in a completely different part of the wider UK (among other differences), Clydach has a very similar name to Claddach.

Good luck to any Englishman in spelling and pronouncing that correctly!

Ditto for the famous name Llanfairpwll ... gogogoch.

Inverness is the gateway to the Black Isle via the Kessock Bridge.
Kyle of Lochalsh is the gateway to the Isle of Skye via the Skye Bridge.

Llandudno is often called "The Queen of Welsh Resorts"

"The Queen of the South" is associated[biblically] with Sheba, and, I suspect, more well-known with Dumfries.

I wonder if Moreton-in-Marsh was the inspiration of the BBC comedy "Much Minding-in-the-Marsh"? [showing my age now!].

That show starred, amongst others, Richard Murdoch, who was born at Keston in the London Borough of Bromley.

Yes M-I-M was the inspiration - the RAF base there being the basis, now the Fire Service College, oh how I miss my weeks of training and the hideous bedrooms.......
Pickering is another site of a well known and attended Steam Fair

Old Harlow is another area within commuting range of London that is now merely a suburb of a town that grew massively after the Second World War.

Of course, Basingstoke is technically an Expanded Town and not a New Town.
