The portion of the village of Pettigo in Northern Ireland is officially called Tullyhommon, but is locally known as 'High Street' because of its hillside position overlooking the remainder of the village.

The most common surname in Scraghy between 1858 and 1864 was Gormley. Joe Gormley, onetime leader of the NUM, was born in Ashton-in-Makerfield.

The Preston Bus company operates two bus routes with the number 5.
One is the no.5 Ormskirk to Town Green circular, which serves Aughton.
In the Ribble Valley, they also operate the no. 5 from Clitheroe to Chipping.

Wilmslow was one of the eight ancient parishes of the Macclesfield Hundred of Cheshire; another of the eight was Mottram in Longendale.

According to the Legatum Institute's assessment of prosperity across the UK in 2016, Telford came out quite poorly, with an overall Prosperity Index ranking of 318th out of the 389 areas surveyed (smaller numbers indicating more prosperous localities).
Next in the Prosperity Index league table, at position no. 319 was Norwich.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Out of interest, in the same survey the three "most prosperous" areas were:-
1. Waverley borough (Godalming, Haslemere & Farnham)
2. Dorking & Leatherhead
3. Winchester

At the other end of the list:-
387. Middlesbrough
388. Blackpool
389. Hull

A large network of tunnels and vaulted excavations extends across the Edge Hill area of Liverpool, created between 1810 and 1840 by tobacco business owner Joseph Williamson for no obvious purpose; they are known today as the 'Williamson Tunnels' and are partly accessible to the public. Williamson was born in or near Barnsley in 1769.
