How abou Worksop station platform 2, to Worksop station platform one, I've done that a few times...

Earl's Court to Olympia (London Transport) - 1970's - to visit Ideal Home Exhibition, of all things!

I also went on the Ryde pier tramway on the Isle of Wight in 1966, which was operated by Southern Region of British Rail using rather primative diesel engined 4-wheel railcars. That was only about one third of a mile, I think.

Both of those predate the 156s even being introduced, though... :roll:

On a side note, without altering the proceedings (as it is too late to change anything), referring back to the 323s in the second question, Walsall - Wolverhampton is shorter at 6mi 56ch. It is scheduled to run at 1936 weekdays.

I have tidied up this thread to clear some confusions that seem to have arisen.

Carry on with the 156s.

I'm going to be rather cheeky here and presume that Newcastle to MetroCentre is shortest, but if anyone objects I am more than happy to accept.

So, if so, shortest journey on a 220.
