Don't 350s have SDO? In that case can't 350s be ran instead of 321s?

I have known an 8 car 350 stop at a 4 coach length platform with only the front 350 in the platform so they have some form of SDO

Why is it running to Aston? Villa Park is basically next door to Witton Station! Aston is at least a 10 min walk. Someone not done their homework, or are there other constraints running to Witton?
I'd have thought the 6tph stoppers at Aston plus the fast services going through would've meant they'd want to avoid stopping as many trains there as possible (yes, I know to get to Witton from the South you've got to go through Aston.)
Will these use the direct route between Stechford & Aston, or will they run via New St?

Yep Witton is electrified. Last year a footex left Witton with the XC 90 set.

Aston for away fans, Witton for home fans. Yes, i know its not Villa playing at home but you get the idea.

Was going to post times but westcoaster beat me to it!

Of note Aston-Birmingham International both ways is via the 'Birmingham avoider' so a rare chance for you EMU fans to get some rare track in!

Not my cup of tea but Enjoy nonetheless...

SDO is Selective Door Opening, used to prevent certain doors from opening on a train where the platform or stop marker would mean certain doors would be over an unsafe part of the platform for alighting, or over no platform at all!

Of note, some units can't do "SDO" and it is in fact "SUO" (Selective Unit Opening) ... in cases where the platform is shorter than 1 unit the local door is opened only.

Like on the 442's, at BEU you had to use Local door but with 10 WES at Sway yoo used 'This 5' on the buttons

As Kris mentioned somewhere else on here, the Pigs used to have a "front 3 only". Oh, and also, Beaulieu Road didn't *require* the local door, but the dwell time was only 20 seconds booked and door release/close takes that.
