I don’t think it’s broken down if there’s a tyre fitter sat behind it!
Attitude, much?

I was reliably informed that it had “broken down” and went that way for a walk after work to see if it was still there.

The presence of a McConechys van doesn’t contradict that - not least because the McConechys branch of Halfords does more than just tyres.

Has there been anything about the Fife changes noted within this?

Hopefully not much changes

Those changes are linked to the new charging points being installed at Dundee, I dare say once that sorted those minor changes will come into effect.

For the avoidance of doubt - it had a puncture on the nearside. These things happen!

In other news, the first of five new vehicles for Arbroath was spotted on delivery around lunchtime today

New 74 plate 50535 seems to have been replaced by a 62 plate today. Could this be because the driver wasn’t type trained?

50533 also replaced.

Pain in the arse if you're on from Glasgow to St Andrews and then told to change bus in Glenrothes, need to get the finger out and get drivers trained up

How many people actually use these routes for the full length? Whenever I do the Fife expresses (whether from Edinburgh or Glasgow) there always seems to be a reasonable amount of turnover at places like Glenrothes or Dunfermline, but I'm not local so I don't see what these flows are like day in day out.

Usually fair few in the summer do Glasgow to St Andrews, yes there is a lot of churn at Dunfirmline and Glenrothes as they are a local service.

I rode the full X24 route between St Andrews and Glasgow. I was actually surprised because quite a few did the same! I had assumed I would be the only one, and everyone else is going elsewhere such as Glenrothes or Dunfermline.

Almost full arriving in Glasgow. Glenrothes and Dunfermline were very busy stops!

The Glasgow to Fife routes are useful and direct compared to the train. They are frequent during although the last departures from the outer terminal points finish early.

Have heard the minor Fife changes will take place on the same day as Tayside changes.
They will, expecting changes to the 36, 42 and 99 (plus the Perth 11 and 65)

I believe the 65 is moving from Perth to St Andrews from 24th March and an extra bus will be added to the St Andrews town services to improve reliability

I wonder when the timetables will be released.

It seems they have forgot all about this point, infact they had promised maps etc and they have also never turned up? Which is odd as they have been alot sharper over the years compared to these changes.

Timetables can be seen on Traveline if you change the date to 24th March....
What they have failed to mention on the Tayway is that there will be a reduction in frequency to Ninewells Hospital to half hourly during the day, and with service stopping much earlier in the evening west of Dundee city centre.

If I'm looking at this correctly the new 72 - replaces old 39 will help provide the 15min service between City Centre and Ninewells, but it looks like Carnoustie will get cut to the Hospital.

The 72 will operate via the 73 route providing the 15-minute frequency to the hospital

The 74 as I understand it will loop around the Hawkhill/Perth Road in an anti-clockwise fashion, serving the dense student population in that area

I think the Sunday timetables on Traveline seem to have both the Sunday and Monday to Friday times in them – some very weird and excessively frequent patterns otherwise.

74A/74C journeys seem to terminate on Hawkhill near Hunter Street 3 mins after Whitehall Street, but then take 10 minutes to get back to High Street – possibly they're doing a one-way loop round the West End? They're also down as going along Broughty Ferry Road rather than Arbroath Road.

Edit: I see I've been beaten to it with regards to the 74 – some very odd decisions have been made it seems!
