'Apparently' in November Stagecoach Hartlepools Dennis Dart ALX200s are being scrapped and they are receiving some ALX300s from Stagecoach Newcastle to replace them. This is what my dad has just told me.

Not sure if that's particularly likely. The Hartlepool fleet is currently all midi-buses, so ALX300s would be a bit out of place.

Besides, there's only 5 ALX200s there so perhaps Pointer Dart SLFs will be cascaded in?

That's what I was thinking but my dad is a driver at Hartlepool and that's what he has been told. I'd say its more likely to see some more recent ALX200s or as you said some PP2s. Guess we will wait and see but it won't be soon before the ALX200s here are replaces, they're falling apart, they get worse every day!

ALX200s are being steadily phased out in favour of the more robust Plaxton Pointer examples.
They're not as high priority as B6LEs which are very actively being withdrawn..

Will certainly be interesting to see what happens when the Hybrids enter service. I imagine that'll be late July before things are completly up...

Two of Hartlepools went to Liverpool I think when they phased out a few runs so they wern't needed. Some of them still have "Super 6" branding on the inside! Would be nice to see some more PP2s in Hartlepool, the E200s we received are diabolical!

None. Just the last 30-odd with Yorkshire. Oxford have a handful that should be replaced now. West Scotland have a pair, but they're allocated as spares.

Amazing to think that Stagecoach have run down a fleet of 50 step B6s and about 200-300 low floor B6s to just 40 B6LEs in just over 2 years or so.

Cheers, didn't realise that there were so few across the group - we have so many of them in Sheffield (most allocated to my local route) that I forget the rest of Stagecoach has moved on.

And, yes, not long ago that the step entrance B6s were common place. Given the fleet they had five years ago (and some of the "older"/ "oddball" vehicles inherited when taking over Yorkshire Traction/ Bullocks/ Maynes/ Rapson etc), Stagecoach have really improved their fleet. Credit where its due.

I agree there! A big mistake was buying MAN A66 Enviro 200s which ithink they quickly realised as they're pretty, well CRAP!

Yes, it was most unfortunate for NE that they got lumbered with a large batch of MAN E200s that
1. Have no leg room
2. Were built at a time when MAN were crap, Stagecoach knew this, but hadn't yet ditched MAN.

It's no coincidence that MAN doesn't, and hasn't featured in the last 2 years orders...

Yeah the E200's are like plastic toys , Luckily we dont have many of them in Newcastle !

We are halfway through the delivery of the batch of E400H's so hopefully by next week we should start to see some ready to enter service , Once that happens this is what we are likely to see movement wise ..

19158 - 19163 Transferred to Slatyford for X87/X88
19193 - 19199 Transferred to Slatyford (Replace T-Reg ALX300's)*
19200 - 19212 Walkergate , 22
19213 - 19219 Walkergate , Unchanged allocation for 62/3

The 22 upgrade will also displace 12 MAN ALX300's, These are likely to be split between Slatyford & Walkergate .

* - Not 100%Sure but most probably be transferred to Slatyford to help replace T-Reg
ALX300's

So am I right in saying that the upshot of the E400Hs entering service is that MAN ALX300s are displaced? (Possibly then going on to remove B10M/BLEs).

I've also heard that regardless of withdrawals, we won't be seeing anything cascaded elsewhere until after the Olympics...

I think we're more likely to see the withdrawal of the remaining B10Ms still in service before the T-reg Mans get withdrawn. I was also under the impression that 19193-99 would be staying at Walkergate for use on the X63...

Yeh that seems to be the case & I imagine where they come across B10M's they will be replaced , They desperately need rid of the step entrance busses wherever they can , Not sure about anything being cacaded elsewhere until after the olympics ? Everything down for replacement in Newcastle is likely to be withdrawn.

I would expect Newcastle to look at a bach of midi buses after all this is done , Routes like the 15's & 33's are inhabited by busses that need to go to bring the Newcastle fleet 100% low floor.

19 E200s are due for delivery to South Shields in January 2012, which should complete the transition to a low floor fleet (excluding the Stockton Olympians which I believe are for works contracts?)

Obviously the B10Ms will be withdrawn first, but there's more vehicles going in than there are B10Ms left...

This was people's theory but according to someone at Walkergate they hadnt decided what these were going to be doing after they a replaced on the 39/40, The X63 isnt really that demanding so upgrading it to DD just for the sake of it seems odd when some ALX300's could run it.

Bit of an update , The X63 certainly wont be going low floor this summer & Walkergate is apparently letting the batch of 55 plate ALX300's go elsewhere , Slatyford will be the recipients of 13 E400's cascaded from 39/40 .

12061-069 12072-076 have all arrived
12061-065 have all received fleet numbers / The cleaner , greener city banner between the decks aswell as Stagecoach in Newcastle lettering & are ready to enter service .

12070-071
12077-079
12080-086 all awaiting delivery as of today .

I seen an image of one of the new Stagecoach buses and for me I just do not like that green livery, I think it looks awful, of course I understand its part of a greener buses contract but to me the Stagecoach identity has been lost I feel.

Just my opinion of course, others may disagree with me.

I saw them in person today whilst I was at Walkergate Depot on business and I can assure you they look great. It's blindingly obvious that it's a Stagecoach bus given the various shades of green follow the exact same structure as the more usual corporate colours.

With all the talk of new buses for Stagecoach in Newcastle, whats the situation with Sunderland? There were still a lot of ten year old single deckers when I was there last week - any plans for anything newer/bigger?

Nothing new, no. But stuff will be cascaded round as a result of the E400Hs entering service.

Basically, any step entrance single decks should be gone with MAN ALX300s being displaced by E400s displaced by E400Hs.
Also likely that some of the early ALX200s will be replaced with said MANs in a capacity upgrade to certain routes.

Just saw one of the new hybrids in service on a 40 to the West End this morning. Doesn't look much different to the other buses apart from the livery but I guess most of the 'good' stuff is under the bonnet, so to speak.

Yes around 10 or so have finally entered into service today on Newcastles 39 & 40 ! As expected this has already started movements in the Newcastle fleet ! 19158 & 19159 are now at Slatyford and will be followed if not already by 19160/1/2/3 , Expect slatyford to have 19193/99 by the end of next week as the cast offs are comming before the *official* 22 upgrade !
