it looks like stagecoach are starting to annoy people up in carlisle http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/c...ews-for-passengers-1.772970?referrerPath=news

Stagecoach can't be annoying them all that much, seeing as Stagecoach are still getting quite a lot more passengers than Reays are.

other things:
1) Stagecoach day rider price DID NOT drop from £3.30 to £2.30 (it is £2.60)
2) Stagecoach staff DO NOT harass the passengers at bus stops where on street ticket machines are used. on many occasions, staff are just stood there, and are approached by passengers, asking what they're doing etc, then they buy a ticket from it
3) Reays DID NOT invest more than £750,000 on 8 single deck buses. they're all on finance, so technically, a finance company invested in them (and the finance company will own them until Reays pay back all £750,000 + interest).
4) on the off chance a Stagecoach member of staff did ask if a passenger wanted to buy a Stagecoach ticket, THE PASSENGER HAS THE ABILITY TO SAY NO!!!!!!!!!
5) yes, Stagecoach buses do sometimes run late due to traffic, but so do Reays! i've even seen Reays buses drive straight past main bus stops cos they're running late, removing the option of a passenger getting on that bus!
6) if Reays are so bothered about Stagecoach dropping day rider prices, then Reays can drop their own bloody ticket prices instead of just bloody moaning!

the parers have no reason to lie i dont think the people comenting would lie either mabey if stagecoaches busses were mopped out and there floors wernt so filthy and there drivers were abit more plesant people wouldent think so little of them, i got on a bus from workington to whitehaven hospital a couple of weeks ago and the floor was rotten, i would expect it on a rainy wet day but it was dry and sunny and it was early in the morning i think they should make more of an effort and clean the busses for people. reays busses are always spotless

I think you have to look at the Carlisle Depots buses then and not judge buses from other depots if that is the case then. Reays buses are clean inside and out but so are Stagecoach Carlisle’s. As for the drivers it’s a bit rough judging them if you have not been up here and sampled them your self, there are unfortunately always the grumpy drivers in every depot, what ever the company.

Having read the article I feel like saying "what the hell did Reays expect?" When a company runs in competition with another company it gets dirty. Of course SC were going to slash prices any other major operator would do the same. Reays need to do the best they can and stop using SC as an excuse for them not doing as well as they had hoped. If people think Reays offer a reliable service, with warm clean buses and friendly drivers then they will use them when given the choice its as simply as that. From what I've seen of Reays they look like a smart outfit, nice new buses which would be nice to ride on and as long as they were on time etc theres no reason not to use them..unless the route they take is no good.

Reays look great on the outside, its what goes on behind the scenes which may be what bites them in the ass.

Just read this on the BBC.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-11630252

The key part that caught my eye was:

"Other road, rail and integrated transport improvements in Ipswich, Mansfield, Taunton, Exeter, Lancaster, Leeds, Sefton and Todwick will also proceed."

At first I thought it may be the X12 hence why I posted it but having watched the transport secretaries speech they are actually funding the Heysham Bypass. May be interest to someone :)

33076 and 34048 ended up on Citi 61 / 61A.
20966 on short 685.
20979 on 38.
Connections to Carlisle on 104.
42094 on its usual 69.
20910 and 20994 on 600.
only saw 15683/5/6 on 300, dunno if 15684 was the 4th bus on.

16651, 16653 and 20473 on 30 & 31.
47007 and 20945 on Seaton 47.
14257 flying around on ASDA Free Bus with dead bright tech.
20962 on 1415 48.

Carlisle workshops:
20907, 20944, 24124, a 76 branded Dart, and some other B10M's.
34688's floor was being scrubbed down when i was down there.

can't remember exactly where they were now, but 17022 is around in the paint system somewhere, along with an M reg B10M from Kendal. 16124 is being repanelled along one side before paint. 16338 in bodyshop being rebuilt still. there was a few others, but i've forgot what they were now.

That should be interesting, wonder if anything will change lol.

Side and rear blinds on 16666 are broken, doubt they'll fix em lol.

14195 at the Uni for most of the day with 40033.

Apparently 22256 has turned up at ME from Preston. I assume its on it way somewhere and is stopping the night...

Also, This mornings 06:00 X61 from Preston to Manchester and 07:15 return was worked by refurbished Volvo Olympian 16331 (N331NPN), I am guessing that 16733 (N733LTN) will also move to Preston for this service once it has been refurbed.

More likely Chorley post Christmas as the X61 is going there, all depends if they've put a tacho in 16733 as it will be needed on that route.

Yes swapping them with year long stored bus 20802 until they have been redone, then when a B10 comes up for M.O.T or in for a service take the seats out of that one back into 20802. Confusing i know

Lol makes sense, any other news to report?
