Parson Street is another station in the South West, with two platforms and served entirely by First Great Western but yet sees CrossCountry services passing through.

Twyford is another FGW mainline station nobody enjoys playing on The next station is...! due to the presence of a 3-station branch line leading away from it.

Tottenham Hale is another station with a DfT category rating of D that was opened in 1840.

I know that I have not travelled through Manchester Oxford Road station in recent times, but where has the light rail system serving it suddenly come from....

Are you confusing matters with both Manchester Victoria station and Manchester Picadilly station, who both have connections with the Manchester Metrolink system.

Indeed Manchester Oxford Road is NOT a light-rail interchange. So, going back to there, Burnley Manchester Road is another railway station where there is another town in it's name to where it actually is (i.e. Manchester OXFORD Road [Oxford is in the south] and Burnley MANCHESTER Road [Manchester is not in Lancashire]).

Also on my posting of Basingstoke, I intended to say Basingstoke WAS OPENED in 1839. I missed this bit out!

Another location with three stations to its name is Pontefract.

Pontefract Monkhill was also opened by the L & Y (or constituent company)

Chester-le-Street is another station on the East Coast Mainline, but which, AFAIK, does not see EC Main line trains regularly calling.

I didn't realise the above train to Southampton was operated by East Coast Trains!

Apologies, I thought you referring to the East Coast Main Line in general, not the TOC!

Havenhouse was also opened in 1873 by the Wainfleet and Firsby Railway.

Fairwater is another station with two platforms served entirely by one operator that also has no Sunday service.

Apology accepted. I should have made it clearer in my original posting.

Mytholmroyd

is another of many stations which have now been "adopted" by local community groups.
