I'm curious, is there a reason why they're starting from Appleby this year ?
Presumably just to try and avoid the ECS moves between Skipton and the stabling point at Appleby that they were having to do last year.
They are based at Appleby, so that's where the train starts. Last year there was a timetabled opportunity to travel from Appleby to Skipton and return the same day, (off the first trip, back on the third trip) so the first and last train ran as ECS. This year for an Appleby to Skipton day return to be possible the first and last train runs in service.I'm curious, is there a reason why they're starting from Appleby this year ?

Very strange as the timetable is based around Appleby. The Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company

From the RTT schedules it looks like it is being stabled at Carlisle this year.
Also RTT shows the newly painted HST moving from Eastleigh Arlington to Crewe HS next Monday.
Given that the set is due to be released on Monday, I’d rather hope they were already in…Apparently some of the HST Trailers for this are going into the paint shop this week.
Ah! I saw a photo literally yesterday on twitter of one being shunted into the paint shop. Hopefully that was from a few days previously then!Given that the set is due to be released on Monday, I’d rather hope they were already in…

Yes, it does.My question is - will it have a yellow front?

It was never going to be that and not sure why anyone would think it would be? The visuals released some time ago made that clear.I was hoping that it would have been IC Blue/White.
It is pretty much as it is, GWR Green with a Grand Central style stripe containing the Saphos logo in the middle (GNER Style), though at least the interior isn't as gaudy as the Blue Pullman, being ex GWR TF / TRFB / TGF's (TGS converted to First Class). I'm still surprised that doors don't have to be a contrasting colour on stock like this though.
Is the interior of the Blue Pullman basically ex-GWR first-class as well, apart from the carpets and curtains?
The shade of green is nicer than the GWR shade (which is too dark), but I'm not sure why the silver stripe doesn't go over the cab doors and luggage van doors on the power car. You'd hope drivers wouldn't need contrasting coloured doors...Rather like the livery, looks far smarter than the original graphics in my opinion - just feel the silver bodyside band is a tad too thick. Still, quite pleasing to my eye!
