Surbiton appears to be the first station inside zone 6. Return tickets from there to places like Woking, Weybridge and Guildford appear to be available as Off Peak Day Returns or Anytime Day Return.

Does off peak have any evening restrictions on such routes?
Do BZ6 tickets also have Off Peak versions?
Are they priced the same as tickets from Surbiton?

Thanks

You want to know the pricing & validity of Off Peak Day Return tickets from:

Boundary Zone 6 and Surbiton

to

Woking, Weybridge and Guildford?

I can't answer the pricing questions as I don't have access to Avantix data, but the Off-peak fares don't have an evening Restriction, only Super Off-Peak fares do, and that is only coming from London Terminals or Clapham Junction/Vauxhall to somewhere between about 4-7pm.

It depends on the direction of travel. If it's issued say Woking to BZ6 CDR, then it has return restrictions. If BZ6 to Woking then it does not.

Boundary Zone 6 - Woking CDR 6.70 B1
Surbiton - Woking CDR 6.70 B3

Boundary Zone 6 - Weybridge CDR 4.70 B1
Surbiton - Weybridge CDR 4.70 B3

Boundary Zone 6 - Guildford CDR 8.70 B1
Surbiton - Guildford CDR 8.70 B1

Restrictions B1 and B3 appear the same to me:

OUTWARD TRAVEL
By any train except those
timed to depart Mondays to
Fridays before 0930

RETURN TRAVEL
By any train
I agree the restrictions and pricing are different in the opposite direction of travel. The Super Off Peak Return (SCO) roughly replaces the Off Peak Day Return (CDR) price-wise but with added restrictions.

yorkie correctly states that B1 is
OUTWARD TRAVEL
By any train except those timed to depart Mondays to Fridays before 0930

RETURN TRAVEL
By any train
But B3 is
OUTWARD TRAVEL
By any train except those timed to depart Mondays to Fridays before 0900

RETURN TRAVEL
By any train
It seems that in the series B1, B2, ... B9 each successive number gives the passenger an extra 15 minutes of validity.

I am finding B1, not B3, for Surbiton - Guildford CDR.

Thanks for your answers. I find it too complicated.

So for the BZ tickets, how does one ascertain the time of departure? Do you look out of the window and hope to see a sign telling you you are leaving zone 6 and then check your watch to make sure it's not too early?
