C6 drop dead dates starting to bite. All sounds like the beginning of ramping up of withdrawals?
After their moves: 5901, 5903, 5904, 5908, 5910, 5911, 5913, 5914, 5915, 5919 and 5920.Which /9s will then remain in service?
Was hoping 5912 would be one of the last to go as it was always slightly different to the others. It had a different chopper to the other 455/9s. 5912 sounded more like a class 319 chopper than the other type which were higher pitched. It also retained the original style door key switch for ages (coat hanger type) plus still has a class 210 coach in it. Oh well.5902 will go by road. Date tbc

455 912 is also one of the ones with a class 210 vehicle in it; 67400.Was hoping 5912 would be one of the last to go as it was always slightly different to the others. The C6 overhaul order was 5711/5904/58 can’t remember/then the rest of the 57s/ then 59s/then 58s hence now a lot of 59s dropping off together when the C6 is due. There is C4 mileage to add to the equation that will knock other units off as well but in theory the 57s will be the last ones as they had a C6 of sorts more recently.Interesting how it seems to be the /9s that are going off lease first and have had the most units withdrawn so far (excluding all the Southern /8s) despite these being the last ones built!
Sorry so does this mean 5711 was one of the last (and thus most recent) to get a C6, I had this unit earlier in the week and noted how all the wheel sets looked very clean and shiny, more so than most other 455s!The C6 overhaul order was 5711/5904/58 can’t remember/then the rest of the 57s/ then 59s/then 58s hence now a lot of 59s dropping off together when the C6 is due. It did, that was the unit involved with the Oxshott cement mixer accident and the carriage most significantly damaged by that was replaced with the donated 210 one.5913 has a 210 coach in it as well?

Heavily modified - notably by removal of the cab, and the fitting of below-solebar equipment, including motor bogies, salvaged from the damaged motor coach. It did, that was the unit involved with the Oxshott cement mixer accident and the carriage most significantly damaged by that was replaced with the donated 210 one.
That coach did have an interesting life. I think (but not 100% sure) that coach at Strawberry hill depot was numbered 7001 when it had a cab. This was around 1989 or early 90s? I'm also sure it had motors fitted to it then. I did read about its 'cut and shut' job it with the damaged trailer following Oxshott and was impressed. I suppose it won't be around long now either.Heavily modified - notably by removal of the cab, and the fitting of below-solebar equipment, including motor bogies, salvaged from the damaged motor coach.
5912/5916 made it as far as Bristol Parkway before a brake issue on one/both of the units halted progress.5902 will go by road. Date tbc

Doesn’t make sense to leave the units behind unless the units brakes are alleged to have contributed to the alleged SPAD.I've been told otherwise that 37800 had SPAD at Bristol Parkway.

That’s a serious allegation to post on a public rail forum. I hope you have evidence to back up this claim.I've been told otherwise that 37800 had SPAD at Bristol Parkway.
He doesn’t need evidence to report that he was told something. That’s a serious allegation to post on a public rail forum. I hope you have evidence to back up this claim.
It’s still a considerable allegation to make on a public forum, whether it was passed on or not.He doesn’t need evidence to report that he was told something.
He said he was told it was a SPAD, not that it was a SPAD.
Whatever you say, Constable. It’s still a considerable allegation to make on a public forum, whether it was passed on or not.
