Addlestone is in progress.
The fencing by Platform 1 (adjacent to the car park) and the large double doors (?) by the entrance/ bike rack were being painted when I passed through. Was at Windsor and Eton today, didn't see any sign of any work.
I believe there are certain restrictions on how far the TOC in this case SWR can paint up to. The places you mentioned are the property of NR responsibility.Redbridge being done
The disused platform 1 at Salisbury has two canopy supporting posts behind a fenced off area still in South West trajns colours! Likewise at Portsmouth and Southsea low level a canopy support post by the buffer stops on platform 3 also has not been painted.
Well, most of the canopy over the high-level through lines is still in what looks to me like NSE red, albeit much of it is obscured by several decades of grime. Of course that's also a NR, not SWR, responsibility..... Likewise at Portsmouth and Southsea low level a canopy support post by the buffer stops on platform 3 also has not been painted.
Oddly, Basingstoke went from feeling very much like a Southwestern station to a SouthEastern (or Abellio GA) once the painters left. SWR's scheme certainly has no warmth to it.Probably repeating myself but who on earth thinks painting stations grey is a good idea? Utterly miserable and depressing.
It's certainly no worse than the later SWR scheme of everything grey with maroon building doors - a particularly hideous combination.Oddly, Basingstoke went from feeling very much like a Southwestern station to a SouthEastern (or Abellio GA) once the painters left. Yeah was that a nationwide trial or what? Odd to go choose maroonIt's certainly no worse than the later SWR scheme of everything grey with maroon building doors - a particularly hideous combination.
