SWT Trainee driver courses 2013.

Hi Everyone
Had my medical today and apart from the drugs test results, all my tests were passed. So now I just have to wait a few days for the results to come though later next week.
So I feel like I am nearly there.

just wondering if anyone out there has heard of the current situation with SWT trainee train driver courses, do they have more this year and if so how many and when?

It seems to have gone a bit quiet on this front.

I've heard from this forum (and emailing SWT) that they have no more trainee driver recruitment for 2013!

Oh sorry I'm pretty sure they said new recruitment - I'd hope you're still in! I haven't ever applied to SWT.

Lots of changes coming now all franchises have been extended they wont frezze the training

I hope so. I spoke to SWT a few days before the franchise changes were announced so hopefully things change!

My thoughts exact!

It's funny whenever you ask for references for your ex manager they always seem to go all quiet, if feels like no one likes giving out references these days.

Does anyone know if your potential new employer would normally only contact the 1st 2 of your previous employment even though you were asked to list 5 of them?

I have spoken to everyone on my list and none off them have been contacted. So I have filled it out again and emailed it straight back.
Now to sit back and see, still turning up on Monday morning though!

Well an update, got a message from one off my listed people for a reference today Ok I will take it all back!!!

So far everyone I have met has been positive, so even better. Must admit the couple of 4.00 alarm calls came as a bit of a shock to the system!

JC1 I will ask when I go back to the training center later this week about further courses, I am pretty sure there will be one due to over hearing a conversation earlier this week.

And for the cab experience, I could not believe how different the journey was compared to being a passenger, got well and truly disorientated & amazed how wide the main line is up into London! Turns I sat in on were -
Alton - Waterloo - Basingstoke - Waterloo - Alton - Farnham
Aldershot - Ascot - Waterloo - Reading - Waterloo - Alton - Farnham
Farnham - Guildford - Okshot - Waterloo - Basingstoke - Waterloo - Alton
And various other routes. So far all the drivers I have blighted with my charm & whit have been first class!
Think my brain is going to melt a bit when I start to build my hours!

I am back, there is very good chance of another course being run later this year, sorry I can not confirm anything.
455 driver, your right, my brain has been having quite a work out over the last few weeks. Our group has a great instructor (10 out of 10) for putting up with us! So far I am really impressed with the company & still getting use to meeting so many positive people
It has been quite long time I have got up in the mornings and actually look forward to going to work. So I am doing my bit by studying hard and paying attention in class (not sure if that is the right word but you get my drift.)
