For some reason when I used to contribute to this thread, I dreaded ending up in the Oxford area for some reason, but I suppose that we all have our own personal dislikes.

Glad to see the thread is still thriving.
I am forever battled every time I see this comment....
Only real options here at this time of night are to kip down and take advantage of the overnight rule, or to head back on the Triangle. Therefore, to line oursleves up for a good start to Saturday, we board the 2340 Stagecoach South East Triangle from Queens Roundabout south, northbound, and alight at Herne Bay Railway Station at 2348 on Friday.
We next board the 0007 Southeastern service 1S78 to Westgate-on-Sea, arriving there at 0020 on Saturday morning.

We take the eleven minute/0.5 mile walk to South Merton Station and board the 1601 Thameslink service 9O50 to Loughborough Junction, arriving there at 1630 on Saturday afternoon.

* attempting to try and stick with heavy rail so that we're not stuck on the TfL maze and can escape the capital if need be! :)

Sticking with Thameslink, we board 9V52, their 1645 service. As we've only been there once this year, we take it to St Albans City (which RTT seems to call just St Albans) where we arrive at 1737 on Saturday.

We take advantage of the overnight ruling and stroll to the stop at Westgate Leisure Centre (8 mins / 0.4 miles). There we take the once-daily Stagecoach South service 25 at 0621. We alight at Pagham, Sefter Bottom (Barfoots of Botley) at 0640 on Sunday morning.

Barfoots appears to be a rather large farm with its own "works" services ...

What an interesting find!

So, it looks as if nothing departs from there until 18:15, but I believe we can walk the main road outside which is served by the 600, so we wait for a few hours until the first one of the day, the 0929 Stagecoach South service 600 to Bognor Regis (Town Hall), arriving there at 0956 on Sunday morning.

I thought so too!

We seem to have run out of local options that don't either take us back where we've recently been (including Gatwick!) or are trains that land us where there are no buses. So...

We walk the 7 minutes / 0.4 miles to the railway station where we board 1C25, Southern's 1031 service from which we alight at Clapham Junction at 1314 on Sunday.

No bugger ever deserves to be left in Neath at any time of the day, let alone on a Sunday night, so we await the 2222 Transport for Wales service 2B89 to Hereford, arriving there at 0031 on Monday morning.

Not much is leaving from Hereford at half past midnight on a Monday, so we spend the night there before boarding the 0523 Great Western Railway service 1P02 to Slough, arriving at 0808 on Monday morning.

Deciding that Slough isn’t the place that we want to spend our Monday morning, we board the 0815 Elizabeth line service to Twyford, arriving at 0833 on Monday morning.
