I am going to run a risk here and suggest we then call it a night, before joining the 04:35 First Greater Glasgow service 240 to Motherwell Railway Station arriving at 04:58 on Tuesday morning.

HALT CALLED

This cannot be allowed to stand as the train in the previous posting did not arrive until 0832....the exact same time as the departure of this service,

A minimum 10 minute connection time applies at Edinburgh Waverley station.

I can't find a train leaving Dunblaine between 10:13 (to Glasgow) and 10:28 (to Edinburgh). What service is it you mean?

It's the 1058 service from Dunblane he means.

Exiting the station to the bus stop outside, we then board the 1144 First South East and Central Scotland service 1 to Falkirk (Upper Newmarket Street), arriving there at 1205 on Tuesday afternoon.

Indeed - it looks like the 10:58 service from Dunblane was meant. Continue from here:

We take a two minute walk along Upper Newmarket Street to the bus stop adjacent to St Andrew's Church and then board the 1305 First Scotland East service 2B to Fankerton (the bus stop at Myot View on the B818) that arrives there at 1334 on Tuesday afternoon.

As it appears to be the same train, I hope its OK to use the 19:42 Scotrail service 1H19 to Inverness, arriving at 23:17 Wednesday morning.

Does it not count as a different service if it changes its headcode though?

The rules and guide notes of this quiz (which was relaunched by the forum quizmaster team) are shown on the first two postings of the quiz and if that question cannot be answered with any certainty by any contestant, then recourse should be made to the forum quizmasters who wrote the rules.

How are we to necessarily know what a train forms after its previous journey, or what services a bus route interworks with when taking journey information from Google? I understand you wouldn't get off a bus or a train mid route and immediately reboard it, but if it has reached it's terminus then any new journey should be treated as such?

As it appears to be the same train, I hope its OK to use the 19:34 Scotrail service 1A88 to Inverness, arriving at 00:13 Wednesday morning.

The minimum connection time at Edinburgh is ten minutes. To avoid taking the risk, use a service after that.

I know it's all down to personal choices but Edinburgh has loads of other train services and a substantial bus network (and a tram network), so I don't see why we need to return on the same train.

I wanted to go to Inverness, and meant it is the same train as they are both 15F, and they are a different service. If that isn't doable then I'll edit the post, which will actually mean it arrives earlier, I assumed it was the last as it arrives after midnight but it isn't, its only as it goes via Aberdeen!

If you take the "edit" option that you mention, noting the number of postings of discussion that have taken place since your original posting # 12621, it would be advisable to strike-through that posting and make a new posting.
