We walk the 6 minutes (0.3 miles) to the station and get the 2143 West Midlands Railway service 2C82 to Dorridge, arriving at 2304 Monday evening.

We then wait patiently for the 23:55 Chiltern Railways service 2U95 to Banbury, arriving for 00:39 in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

That is very much it now for the rest of the night, so we return in the morning and take the five minute walk to the bus station and board the 0600 Stagecoach Oxfordshire Gold service S4 to Oxford (Magdalene Street East, Stop C6), arriving there at 0705 on Tuesday morning.

Well, sadly we just too far from the railway station, and even more of a kick in the teeth as the bus in the opposite direction has literally left two minutes earlier, so, to avoid being stuck on the 280 forever, we wait for the 1130 Arriva Shires Sapphire service 280 to Haddenham & Thame Parkway (Railway Station), arriving there at 1138 on Tuesday morning where no doubt we've probably just missed a train!

You're not wrong, we watch the 1138 leave as the bus pulls into the forecourt.

So we await the 1216 Chiltern Railways service to Dorridge arriving at 1317 on Tuesday.

Understandable that a reduced timetable is in operation during this cloud of uncertainty hovering above us but it would ideal if services timed with each other!

I won't be that person that takes us to London, because I feel as if we end up in London for quite a considerable amount of time, so instead we board the 1408 West Midlands Trains service 2K39 to The Hawthorns, arriving there at 1439 on Tuesday afternoon.

I think the bus probably gets there earlier, as 1138 would be the departure time but its a bit close for comfort however it runs.

We will take the 1455 West Midlands Trains service to Spring Road arriving at 1517 on Tuesday.
