Even if it wasn't for H&S, cab rides would probably be less common now. Back in the day I'd imagine when it did happen, it was kept quite quiet and not broadcast to the world. But now, with things like twitter and youtube, the whole world would know.

Absolutely true. Sometimes I wonder what some people's motivation for a cab ride actually is. Is it to actually experience the front end of a train, or is it just so they can tell the internet that they did it?

Sorry but I will stop using your first name if you prefer but you are quite famous on forum circles I hear :)

Infamous more like! ;)

I am also fully aware who DieselDriver is and have enjoyed a pint or 3 with him in the past.
Does he know who I am though?

Indeed, an ex colleague of mine allowed a spotter into his loco cab (stationary) to video it and asked him not to publish the video, by the time he got home it was all over youtube with the driver able to be clearly identified by his DM!!!. I don't let anyone in my cab unless they have the correct authority.

No one is permitted in a driving cab (except NR staff in the course of railway operational duty) unless they possess a valid cab pass which is backed by SCWID.
