5 competencies? They only have Customer Service Orientation, Results Focus and Safety Awareness listed in the example documentation. What are the others?

Apologies, there are only 4. Someone earlier in the thread pasted part of an email which listed the following but didn't keep the formatting so it made it look as if there were 5. So you have to get at least 12 points and pass all 4.

Customer Service Orientation
Results Focus
Safety Awareness
Technical Competency
Fault Finding

I'm looking at my email from TFL now. It looks like we're being assessed on Organisational Awareness as well. Making 5.

I'm assuming this is because we're external candidates.

Apologies, yet another post from me.

I'm looking at my AC2 confirmation email. It lists the competencies that will be assessed, however next to each one there's a letter. Such as this:
Customer Service Orientation - B
Organisational Awareness - A
Results Focus - B
Safety Awareness - B

Within the email there's no explanation as to what these letters mean. Does anyone on here know?

Thanks in advance.

Those are probably the levels at which you'll need to demonstrate each competency to pass. The scale is generally A-E, the lower end is for entry level roles.

Thanks for that Met Driver. Slightly un-nerving, but I'm now going to go through my examples and add more detail.

I am an external candidate but Organisational Awareness is not listed on my email as a competency?

This is very strange. I've just received a reminder email about my Monday appointment. On this email the Organisational awareness competency is gone completely. Very odd!

That's interesting. I had my AC2 last week and the OA competency was on both my emails but I'm pretty sure they didn't ask about it.

That's reassuring. If they don't ask, I won't worry. Although I'll still be prepared. :D

How is everyone revising for AC2?

How do you know your answers are to the A or B standard?

I had my interview last Monday. They inform you when they change section in the interview. I wasn't asked a question about organisational awareness but it doesn't mean you shouldn't prepare for it because they said they mix it up to avoid questions leaking out.

Thats the question isn't it! I'm just preparing 2 examples per competency. I'm writing a paragraph about each, followed by expanding it according to the STAR concept.

I've done this for each competency, along with answers to the inevitable 'why do you want to work for tfl' or 'why do you want to be a train driver'.

But it's handy that they tell you when they change section! I've never had a competency interview that does that before.

What's the star concept mate?

STAR is how you should answer a competency based question. They say it gives you the greatest chance at getting higher marks.

It goes like this Situation, Task, Action, Result.

There's more details in the workshop guide TFL link with the AC2 confirmation email.

Just heard back, and I've been offered the role! Shocked is an understatement as I didn't think the interview went great. Obviously subject to medical etc which is scheduled for next week. The lady said training would hopefully be mid april.
Good luck to everyone else.

Just an email saying I was unsuccesful and that no further feedback can be given due to volume of applications.
