Trivia: Cities and towns with unconnected stations

I rather enjoy visiting those places where there are two stations, which arent connected by rail, and you have to walk from one to the other.

Can we get a complete list?

St Albans
Warrington
Wigan
Southend
Dorking
Glasgow
Gainsborough
Maidstone
Canterbury

Are there other stations unconnected by rail that you can walk between? Excluding central London obviously.

I would be very interested if there are any examples of stations within walking distance that arent well known, since they have completely different names. The only example I can think of is Severn Beach and Pilning

Settle and Giggleswick are within walking distance but on different routes from Settle junction.

Windsor springs to mind. Hertford and plenty in greater London such as Bromley for example.

How about Barton on Humber and Hessle. It's a fair walk, about 2.5km, but interesting.

Tyndrum Upper to Lower, an old tractor basher move, sometimes via the Little Chef for breakfast.

Hartford (WCML) and Greenbank (Cheshire Line)

Coryton and Radyr

And Brum of course, New St to Snow Hill or Moor St

To make it more interesting, what's the pair with the longest minimum distance between them by rail (i) with (ii) without a reversal?

E.g. Tyndrum Upper to Tyndrum Lower (i) reverse at Crianlarich (ii) via a loop in Glasgow?

Coryton and Radyr may not be far as the crow flies but they are miles apart by road and divided by the River Taf.

I would be very interested if there are any examples of stations within walking distance that aren't well known, since they have completely different names. The only example I can think of is Severn Beach and Pilning

Heath High Level and Heath Low Level. They are very close - on one occasion I caught by mistake (due to slightly late running) an Ystrad Mynach train at Queen St when travelling to Whitchurch, but was able to alight at High Level and walk to Low Level to pick up the train I had intended to catch! Fortunately no guard came to check my ticket before I alighted from the Rhymney Valley train.

Coryton and Radyr

I have done that walk, which is pleasant in part, but they are different places, over 1 mile distant by foot, on either side of the River Taff! There used to be an interesting signal box and lower quadrant semaphore signals at Radyr - are they still there?

Depends what is meant by a rail connection. You can get to Snow Hill and Moor Street from New Street by changing at Smethwick Galton Bridge; or by taking a tram to Snow Hill.

If only direct National Rail connections are counted then I can offer The Hawthorns to Sandwell and Dudley, Dudley Port, Tipton, Smethwick Rolfe Street, and Tame Bridge Parkway. All stations are in Sandwell.

Bromley South & North- though you could go to to Petts wood-Grove park-Bromley North if you couldn't face the high street!

Catford & Catford Bridge would again require a convoluted route.

Are there not still a couple of Salford reversals that serve Picc then Vic (or vice versa)? Or are we looking at direct connections only?
