A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Probably something to do with Bedworth to Coventry having 15+ buses per hour and to the city centre.

....and lots of bus stops within easy reach.

Well Monday morning should finally see the dogbox stopping at the two new stations.

Are you just saying this to raise our hopes...:D

I notice that you cunningly left the date off after the words Monday morning..:(

Haha no I'm not I promise :D

Ah that's my get out, if they don't open .... 'Well I didn't say which Monday.....

All been told the 21st, but it's strange how the local papers haven't mentioned it.

Edit: now the 28th!! You cannot make it up. The stations have been completed over a month now.

London Midland/the contractors need to take a good look at themselves. What a farce this whole thing has become.

Has anyone checked if the WM concessionary pass is valid for Arena?
It's within WM but not shown on Network WM's map.
LM's website won't quote a fare.
Seems they are not ready for passengers. I expect they'll jump to it when they are inundated with enquiries.

The Network West Midlands ticket page shows Bermuda Park as Out of County like Bedworth, nothing is shown for Arena.

A MONTH ago? More like YEARS ago. If we only count this year then they were supposed to be opened in May. September 28th now? Which year?

The stations were only completed a month ago. Just some snagging works going on at present. Fact.

Traincrew were told the 21st at the start of September. Now it appears to be the 28th. Nothing confirmed.

Just had a quick look a realtime trains.....and the 28th seems to be the first day the two new stations are set to have the dogbox stop there.

Believe it or not I'm probably more annoyed at this than you are. I've seen this go from being talked about to being put on hold, to being confirmed, then being put on hold again, to construction and now to be going past Bermuda Park and Ricoh at 45 when the stations are finished is annoying to say the least.

It all sounds fishy as London Midland stil cannot confirm an opening date. Something tells me that the stations haven't been handed over from the contractor yet.

It is starting to become a joke.

Two days ago LM ticket website was quoting season tickets to the Ricoh.

Rail Magazine, Issue 783, 16-29 September 2015, Letter, page 37 - Mixed Signals from LM.

Letter from John Boynton, Kidderminster refers to 2 BBC TV Midlands News items on August 25. One for for "We have no spare trains" for the Coventry Nuneaton line and then "Plenty of Extra Trains" for the various League Cup matches taking place that evening at Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Walsall, Wolves and West Bromwich. !!

Presumably the extra trains for the sports events are achieved by short-forming other trains and maybe stretching fleet utilisation too? I don't think it'd be a good idea to try and rely on 100% fleet usage all the time!

I have just been to take a look at Bermuda Park station which still has a 6 foot high wire mesh fence around it and part of the car parking layby still needs kerbstones laying and surfacing, so I would agree with the poster above that Buckingham have not handed the station over yet. The platforms and signing looks complete and the destination boards on the platforms are working.

According to Realtimetrains there is a service from there tomorrow but I would disagree!

Considering the amount of time trains are sitting at Bedworth and arriving at Coventry and Nuneaton early, one suspects that they aren't open.....

No still fencing around the two stations.

London Midland are blaming network rail for the delay .....

Just contacted Coventry City Council and they have confirmed there is "no date as yet for opening but hopefully next month". At this rate will be lucky if there open before the December timetable change

I reckon we should just let them gather dust.

What an utter joke this has become. London Midland still blaming anyone but themselves.

Surely all that needs to be done is to remove the mesh fencing.....anyone got a van? :D

Are all the clubs except Coventry covered by electrified train lines and as such there are probably more electric trains spare than diesel ones?

Certainly the Villa match I went to recently had double 170 DMU's there and back. This was on an electrified line too, as I was expecting a 323. Seemed plentiful in supply. Wander if it is more to do with the paths from tyseley to coventry being the issue.

More to do with the fact that only link 1 drivers at Coventry sign DMU's and then only 153's at that.

It'd cost a fortune to train them all on 170's. Why bother going to the expense of doing so when the line is set to be electrified in a few years (doubt that though), when 323's could then be used.....which Coventry drivers already sign......it's all about cost.

Not many believe the crap London Midland gives about having no spare units.

Ah yeah, it really is a disgrace though as even on just a Coventry City match there is usually a good 9,000 people that go and it is so inaccessible from public transport means.
Take the CCFC website as an example, they list that you should "get the number 8 bus to the city centre" then "Get the number 4 or 5 bus to the tesco car park".

Oh it's a disgrace all right.....but this is the railway we're talking about.

But LM don't care tbh. They could earn a fortune on match days.

Who are Network Rail blaming or are they holding up their hands and saying yes, we are the reason for the delay. Delays to happen from time to time when building new infrastructure.

And how many of those come from the Railway station.
There used to be a direct bus service from the station run by De Courcey but it was withdrawn.

Don't know about network rail, but that is who London Midland were saying is behind the delay yesterday.

Anyone on here on NR side know what's going on?

Does anyone know how often the Cov-Nun 153 goes to Tyseley for maintenance? I'm thinking that it could use the same path and driver to and from Tyseley with a multiple unit for the w/e and a single car in the week. Someone posted that there are spare units at the w/e.

You would be surprised, having spoken to a few local fans they would rather change at coventry than drive. Certainly away fans would rather take the train.
