I'm fairly sure it's on the WHR somewhere (that looks suspiciously like a Garratt to me!), but I've never been there, so I don't know which...

not unless you took a screen grab and uploaded that

Still easier than you'd think - last year on a private forum for former pupils of my old school there was a quiz involving about 20 landmarks loaded up from Google screen grabs; most of them went straight away - people just went into a random likely looking part of the country then started skimming along across the surface...

Hence my preference for side on angles rather than straight down angles would be better.

Well...Google Maps still can't be any help in this case. Just tried to follow the path of the WHR (Note I say path...Google's aerial imagery from those parts is still pre WHR completion!) and couldn't spot any track or alignment conforming to that layout. :(

Come on Google...Ye're supposed to be the World's biggest provider of up-to-date data! Get a move on and take some updated pics of Snowdonia!:p

While Google Maps doesn't have the railway through Beddgelert, the part of the railway in my photo is shown quite well in actually; track and stations are all there.
I'd have thought that the bit about the photo having been taken from near another railway station would have helped.
I got there on foot though!

Rhyd Ddu, presumably taken from the summit end of the SMR with a telephoto lens? <D
(Or at least if not from that far away, from the gravel/scree heaps overlooking the town. 8-) )

At last! Correct, give the man the full coconut. Over to you.
Sorry about the long delay...I've been chocked up with stuff all day today and havn't been able to access the forum!:shock:

I'm going to try and take a bit of a break from here for the time being (And I have no aerial photos of my own either) so I'm going to open the floor for anyone else who wants to post one. <D

Retford is correct.

I knew that track layout was perhaps too distinctive for quiz purposes!

Sorry for such a long wait; I haven't had much time to do any scanning recently!

This should be a relatively easy one. It's the site of a former station.
