There are major problems on the WCML at the Euston end due to an over-head power failure. All services out of Euston have been cancelled until futher notice. My Mum is there, that's all I know for now. :(

Pendolino losts it pan and brought down the wires. It's designed to snap off if it encounters a physical problem with the wires. It can still move using it's rear pan but obviously with no wires it won't be going anywhere.

By the time you've read this it, it will be too late thanks to Chaz's Moderation.....

...unless one of those nice admin chaps is on the ball ;)

There a fine bunch of blokes aren't they HUZZAH!

3900xx 1M13 09xx Glasgow-Euston has carelessly lost its pan at Castlethorpe

That was at 1400, train on the move 1720 through to Euston...

Severe damage to OHL, all lines stop UFN.

Silverlink Euston-M.Keynes only, no Virgin south of Northampton.

A fun evening peak for all! Tomorrow also probably going to be a bit of a struggle

According to National Rail everything Virgin is getting 1 Train an hourly to all destinations.

1 TPH - Manchester (No Standing Room)
1 TPH - Wolverhampton
1 TPH - Carlisle with some extended to Glas-goo
1 TPH - Liverpool (Pans and Bogies will no doubt be nicked)

Horray!

VXC in a mess aswell, various cancellations, Voyager shortage according to a post on Virgin-Trains Yahoo group.
I've just read that.

Seems anything going from south up to Manchester is been caped at New Street. I haven't heard anything about the XC90 today. I assume it's out unless it's had one it's daily failures again.

Bad night for Virgin.

I just missed you. I was on the delayed 17:15 to Northampton which was rammed with people. Coventry station was packed with the only train to Birmingham being the 18:02 local stations to New Street

What's the Traction to pull 1S96? If only 47840 was with GBRf to drag 'em!

I did wonder why it seemed so quiet at Stoke around lunchtime....

I was at Stoke at 11am, and my 2 deliveries and 1 collection were all beside the line either side of the station. In the 2 hours I was there, I saw 2 pendos and a Central 158.

At Stone between 1330 and 1430, nothing passed at all....

I saw this in Manchester then later in Wolves on Weds. Any idea why?
I thought it was normally EWS 90 + 7Mk2's and Mk3's and DVT.

(IIRC it was 90020 and 90039)

Ah Top n Tail then! DVT must of failed again. Doesn't suprise me!!

The Overhead Wire problems seem be more serious than previously thought. The situation won't be resolved until Sunday according to Network Rail so that Pendo must of brought down quite a fair bit of wires.

Still operating a reduced timetable so all services must be on Slow Lines. Plenty of Virgin services reduced.

Siverlink only going as far as Milton Keynes with buses to/from Northampton, apart from the Peak 12 Car Cobblers which are going through to Northampton.
