The WCML Fast Lines were shut this morning between London Euston and Kenton and the Up Fast Line was still shut this evening between London Euston and Kenton.

Does anybody know why?

Damage to overhead lines I believe (there were a couple of incidents this morning, I might have got the wrong one)

There was a Pendo stopped on the up fast near South Hampstead, ended up being dragged by a ROG 57 back north.

It's been open again since around 1630 (saw a train fly through Wembley on the fast instead of crossing over to the slow at North Wembley

up fast is blocked between Willesden and Camden but down fast open. OLE issues at Kilburn.

The other incident is the embankment issue at Hillmorton. Down shut between Hanslope - Rugby. Up has a 50 ESR at the site

Thankyou so much for this.

Do you know if the up fast between Willesden and Camden will have reopened by 16:30 tommorow?

There is a plan to repair overnight so should be but there is little delay if the train is routed to the slow lines from North Wembley junction...
Possession goes through to 0900 on Fasts.

That landslip could be a long closure Ive heard.

The down fast between Hanslope Junction and Hillmorton Junction has also been closed for the last few days due to a landslide.

EDIT: Just seen this had already been mentioned

Pendo stopped as a result of an OLE incident, or a fault itself? There was a Pendo stranded north of Preston for several hours last night, just a bit of a coincidence?

I think the one stuck between Lancaster and Preston yesterday was a brake fault.

OLE issue at Kilburn - wires down on Up Fast at Bridge 19.
Works just been completed.

Spot on.
Parking brake fault, ended up with a train to train evacuation and the 390 rescued by 57308 and dragged back to Longsight the following day.
Most action the Thunderbirds have seen in a while!
How do you do a "train to train evacuation" ? Trains side by side, or end to end? Or does it depend on the stock?

Depends on the circumstances and locations - certain trains carry "bridging boards" for side to side (or they are held in strategic locations) , trains carry emergency ladders as part of the emergency tool kits of course.

What with these two incident's, and the Voyager derailment in Polmadie last night, it looks like the AWC Fleet will be a little tight for the next few days. I'd expect the Voyager to be out of service for a while given the extent of its damage however (Demolished an OHLE mast).

Only 4tph out of Euston, should be ok.

Only about half the fleet needed with this timetable. Loads spare.

LNW have announced they're suspending the Crewe <> London service until further notice.

As a result, the Liverpool service is picking up Nuneaton and the Manchesters are picking up Lichfield & Tamworth.

Regarding the derailment, I believe there are two Pendolinos stuck in Polmadie behind the voyager which has essentially blocked them in.

Pardon the pun, that’s put a spanner in the works

Presumably they can't run either a Rugby to Crewe service or a London to Crewe service as an extension of an existing London to Northampton service instead?

They're running an hourly bus service from Rugby to Stafford serving the intermediate stations. I don't understand why a train can't do this.
