56084-134 were all delivered from Doncaster or Crewe in large logo livery.Possibly some 56s, I guess, if it was the case, before the original Railfreight Grey tok over? Or was it only used on rebuilt/refurbished locos, such as the Class 37/4s?

Right, I Thought a few 56s would have had it from New. So only one 56 actually had the very first Railfreight livery from new?
The very first loco to receive large logo livery was 56036
A number of 73s received it as well.
Always found it odd no Class 86s or 87s received large logo. 87006 was the closest in the experimental grey large logo livery.
That’s right about the 37/4s all receiving LL when refurbished.I think all the Class 37/4s got the livery at the same time as they became /4 subseries locos? (Doubt they had it for long, seems most of them got either IC Mainline or Railfreight triple grey after only a few years). And a number of 47s? Plus the mentioned 50s of course. Did any 31s ever get it? Or did they go straight to one of the Railfreight liveries or IC Mainline?
Sans Pareil and Novelty respectively. Two 86s effectively received Large Logo colours (214 and 235), but with a large yellow square for Rainhill 150 in place of the double arrow.

I think the last one remaining in Large Logo may have been 37408.

I remember that model. I think it was a bit of artistic license by Lima .That's interesting - when I was a kid I had a OO model of 87022 "Cock o' the North" in large logo - was that a bit of artistic licence by Hornby? (or Lima - can't remember which!)

Repainted from large logo to EWS in late 1998.From a quick look through a couple of picture galleries it seems like this loco may have had LL until it got EWS colours around 2000?
Your memory hasn't failed you - It was indeed previously 37292.That sounds about right. I was North of the border back then, and we had numerous large logo type 3's on the Oban/Mallaig & Kyle runs. Remember specifically '425 turning up at Fort 'Bill' one day, as it was the only member of the class I hadn't seen in it's old (proper) guise, as.....292, my memory is telling me, but don't hold me to that this far down the line! In those days, to me anyway, the last of the line was 308, being one of those used on the triple headers in Wales...fond memories!
Remember walking round 30A one day back in the mists of time, to be confronted by said loco having literally just been moved outside the paint shop. Was certainly an eye opener at the time, and seemed to suit the 56's I thought.

Locomotive classes that received large logo blue:I bet the 31s would’ve looked pretty good in large logo. The similar original Railfreight scheme suited them well...
A most comprehensive list Helvellyn. I did chuckle about the 08 but you’re absolutely right of course.Locomotive classes that received large logo blue:

You may have been on the same trip as me - August 12th 1978 when I saw it at Stratford (age 7) on a trip with my dad. I wrote a diary of the day, which I found this evening - one sentence reads "Loco with big number and BR thing." I assume 'thing' was the double arrow
