Another vote for Rannoch (and its hotel).Rannoch.
Remote, ultra-beautiful surroundings, amazing hotel to stay at in the middle of the largest wilderness in the UK .. and a direct service to London!
Indeed - I stayed at the hotel last February and arrived on the sleeper. The owner came down to the platform and greeted us by name to carry our bags (even though I and my travelling companion were far bigger than him!) and we then had a huge breakfast. Nowhere else - wonderful!
As an all time favourite I have to go for Broad Street for its air of decayed grandeur in its later years.
Funny how times change, I remember the pub in the corner of St Pancras back in the nineties and it wasn’t very nice! Full of “interesting” characters .Upstairs at ST Pancras at the London end of the platforms
Great pub as well in the SE corner !!!

Yes that station is very high on my list.York takes a lot of beating. Beautiful architecture AND the York Tap right on the platforms!
Another vote for specifically Nethertown. Quality location.Braystones and Nethertown are my current favourites. Especially the walk along the beach between the two. Peace!
