What's your favourite DMU, EMU or DEMU?

I want to find out the most liked MU in the UK.

This has came up quite a lot, but my favourite unit is the class 321.

My favourite classes are, 507/8, 150/1/2, 156, 390, 313, 501, 502, 503 and 142 (yes I'm a pacer lover, kill me now.)

There're ok as long as it's not a long route and there's no points or level crossings along the route, if it weren't for the national shortage of DMUs then they would have been scrapped by now

For me it has to be the REP/TC/Class33 combo, as used W'loo-Bomo-Weymouth in the 60's/70's

Definitely the 442.
Especially in the Pre-Disability Regulations livery and the NSE livery.

This is also the fastest third rail EMU ever.

DMU: Big fan of any Sprinters but 150s are a favourite.
EMU: 317s followed by 315s.

The 142's look the best. A newer version with no steps, more cars and electric would be great. The best worldwide is rapi:d a train in Japan.

Parcers could do with a Jacobs bogie in the middle to make less bumpy ride. But thats the fun of it!

Favourite DMU - Class 156s

To be honest, never really had much chance to ride any EMUs or owt. However, my least favourite DMU is the Voyager, closely followed by the 185s.

I want to find out the most liked MU in the UK.

Favourite of all would have to be classes 205 and 207 for me, just very slightly prefer the class 207 for the narrow body, the fact they tended to be rarer (in later years), and a somehow very aggressive looking front end!

Other classes I like, class 365 simply because they're a very nice unit to travel on, 423 and 421, again very nice to use, 323s nice as well again a decent interior layout and nice sound. Pendolino ok in first class only!

On LUL, 59 and 72MkI stock.

If I had to pick one:

DMU: 180 (although I haven't been on one so I reserve the right to change my mind! )
DEMU: 222
EMU: 395

Runners up:

DMU: I like all the Turbostars and the 158/159s come close too.
DEMU: Not a lot of choice in terms of main line passenger work!
EMU: The 375/3s, /7s, and /8s, 390s and the 444s.

DEMU: 222 (10 times better than the Voyagers they are based on - and as a plus point, the cabin doesn't stink of ****)
