Does anyone know if it's possible to change trains at Whifflet in the following scenario:-

I will be arriving from Glasgow Central at 13.45 and want to change over to the other platform to get a northbound train to Cumbernauld which is shown on the timetable as also leaving at 13.45!
Presumably the Cumbernauld train would have to wait for the Glasgow train to come into the station, before leaving?

Is it possible to change trains as described above, or does the Cumbernauld train leave as soon as the Glasgow train comes into the platform next to it?

This occurs thoughout the day at xx:45
The termnating trains from G Central usually arrive into platform 1 (and sometimes arrive early!).
The Motherwell - Coatbridge trains stop at platform 2 and it is usually easy to make the connection as they will not leave early, but sadly you cannot assume that it is guaranteed.

For what it's worth, WTT arrival time for the train from Glasgow Central looks to be 13:44, and WTT departure for the Cumbernauld train is 13:47H (but presumably they don't wait for WTT time?). The latter won't get the road until the former has cleared the junction in any case (unless it's late!), but that won't take long if everyone's on the ball.
