Let see if some people can found some ugly gems:

Lets start off with this:

MTE186K was a Leyland Atlantean PDR1/3 / Fowler H73F new to Fishwick's Of Leyland (6) in August 1972. Fowlers were owned by Fishwick's, but this was the only double decker built. It was planned that it could be built with two doors if required. It is said that a major company had expressed an interest in buying a large batch, but delivery dates could not be met. After disposal it passed to Mercers at nearby Longbridge and it is seen here on a private hire to Morecambe. The blank panel on the upper deck after the first window is not unlike some Northern Counties bodies built on Olympians.

The custom bodied Citaros in Leipzig were pretty ugly. I believe they were built for an Expo event and then the LVB purchased a batch second hand. When I was over there last year they seemed to be being replaced by hybrid articulated MANs

Unfortunately I have to disagree with the Wright Eclipse being included, I think it's a stylish body in all forms (single deck, double deck, articulated).

My contenders for ugly buses:
(all photos not my own)

Easts Lancs OmniTown
East Lancs Mylennium
East Lancs Pyoneer What were they thinking?
East Lancs EL2000
Marshall Capital
MCV DD103

And by far the worst:

This.

Yes I agree with Vicbury the wright eclipse are not too bad. It's just the newer single decker ones with two windows.

Anyway here are the ugly buses=

They are ugly to me

Also I must say Citaros with the debadged front panel (Trent Barton, Stagecoach, BVG and possibly other cities look odd - also contrary to a lot of what you hear from Bus Spotters Mercedes do not have a problem with the debadged front - it's on the customer option list but I believe it costs extra due to the non standard panel)

I think this one's rather pretty, retro-ish, however I am quite partial to artics.

By far the ugliest bus of all mentioned above imo is that Leyland Swift. What were they thinking! It bypassed the yuckiness of the Borismaster and that takes some effort.

The Geminis and East Lancashire Myllenium are actually rather nice in my eyes.

Another one I can think of off the top of my head are those Designline ones they had over at Tyneside. Looks like someone slashed it in the face. Ugh!

Surprised nobody has mentioned 'The Tynesider', which was a pimped up Northern Routemaster and ugly as sin (not my pic) - http://www.flickr.com/photos/15218213@N06/2468098163/

another shot showing its uglyness, again not my pic - http://www.flickr.com/photos/woodslibrary/4479366778/

The Wearsider does'nt look too bad as its not too muchdifferent to the other Northern front loading Routemasters of the day. The Tynesider however is vile!
