Well after my line manager interview on tuesday a letter arrived in the post today and I didn't get it. I am gutted because I thought it went very well but I will give HR a call and see if I can get some feedback.

Good luck to all those who are left.

Really sorry to hear that fergie.

That's a really quick turn around after 2 days tho.

I guess we will all be hearing today or tomorrow based on that, will have to anxiously wait until I finish work.

I had mine on Monday and I think it all went well. I am really excited about this position, so the sooner it starts the better!

When did you have yours?

I know! I'm so excited too, just rushed home but still no letter. I had my medical last Thursday.

Congratulations by the way! I think we'll probably find out next week or something, as I'm not too sure they have a fixed start date yet. I found out at the medical that my left eye is quite weak, so it's glasses for me haha!

And to you, I look forward to meeting you and the other trainees soon. Get them glasses ordered quickly we have plenty to learn.

Likewise! I'm sure there'll be a fair few trainees, as the OPC said it was a big recruitment campaign. Haha I luckily got my prescription before the medical, as I had an inkling that my left eye may give me some trouble, so hopefully they'll be ready next week.

Looking at getting a start date next week chaps.

Still waiting for the drug/alcohol test to come back, I sat my medical last Wednesday. So probably let people know a start date next week at some point.

It shouldn't be too long anyway, as I remember in the Manager's Interview they asked if I was available to start at the end of October/early November, so they'll tell us soon so we can hand our notices in.

Well it's been an emotional day first my wife rings me to say I have a letter and it said I was unsuccessful. I was absolutely gutted. I then got home and read the letter which was actually from a TOC I had applied to ages ago saying the positions had already been filled. So the letter wasn't even from freightliner lol.

Literally 10 mins after reading the letter I received a phone call to say I had been successful and subject to a medical I have been offered a position. So I have gone from gutted to ecstatic within the hour. What a fun day it has been :)

Congratulations to everyone who has got through.

Hi NI

Have you had a response yet?
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
JoyDivision and James....

How intense was the medical?
Should we all start jogging now

Haha yeah, you'd better ask Mo Farah for some tips... nah, the medical wasn't too bad to be fair, but be sure to listen carefully in the hearing test, as the sounds are VERY quiet. I found out that my left eye wasn't good enough uncorrected, so they have said I MUST wear glasses at all times when driving. Congratulations by the way!

Hi Marky82, like JoyDivision says the medical is very standard. I had to really concentrate for the hearing test but again it's not to tough. Is anybody going to have to relocate for the training?

I have to relocate for my depot and the training, which is a good thing for me, as I can't wait to leave my hometown haha! How about you?

Many thanks mate, absolutely over the moon.

James, I was giving Bristol as my allocated depot which is fantastic as I don't have to relocate, it's 20 mins from my house.

Anybody else?

Once the medical is done with, you can definitely celebrate with a well earned pint! I made sure I didn't drink at all before mine, just in case, as they do a drugs & alcohol test and a breathalyzer on the day. Well done again and I look forward to meeting you and all of the other lucky gentlemen & gentlewomen!

No, which leads me to feel I'm going to get a "thanks but no thanks", which would be completely devastating after that interview.

My fingers are crossed for you NI.

Good luck to all waiting, well done to all who've been successful.
Look forward to meeting you all

I rang FLHH today, the waiting was killing me, anyway to cut a long story short the lady in HR said that the scheme had been enlarged (more trainee drivers) and so the process had been extended and will continue until the end of October. So if you havent heard back yet it doesn't mean no thanks. So more training course start dates probably.
