Hi Londonlancs, they are not interviewing based on location, the day of my interview, the two guys before me were Ferrybridge, the guys after me were Bristol, I was also Bristol. Phatdan is based in the SE-he was also told that he had passed his cbi by email-if you read back you can see this. I had my DM interview 3 weeks ago and still have not heard anything back so am getting twitchy, even a no thanks would be better then this torture (well not really but I do feel that I just want some closure on this process). On the plus side I rang Colas and because I have passed all the tests they are arranging a DM interview for me.

Hey Two Wheeler! I was also down in Watford on 3rd and I'm in exactly the same position as you. I tried calling FLHR on Friday but was told that the woman who deals with all the recruitment off until Monday. I'll probably be checking the post in the morning and calling back in the afternoon if still no luck.

As far as I'm concerned no news is good news. If we had failed the tests we would have probably been told immediately so I'm happy on that front.

There could be any number of reasons that they haven't got back to us yet, and the only one that concerns me is that my letter may have been lost in the post; Then I would be at risk of missing my interview through lack of information (hence why I'll be ringing on Monday). The phone number should be the one at the top of letters they should have sent you re past tests.

Final thought - It makes sense to interview people together based on their current location and therefore where they might be based i the future. According to this forum there have been lots of job offers for Crewe and the South of the country, but none for Manchester (which is my local), Leeds or Liverpool. I notice you say you 'went down' to Watford. Are you from the North of the country also? I get the feeling they might be interviewing based on location, and ours may not have come up yet.

Would be interesting to know where Phatdan comes from, North or South?

Of course this is all just theoretical and is most likely all wrong, but at least knowing more than one person is in the same boat as me is very comforting (sorry, lol). Keeping my fingers crossed that we both hear soon!

Hey, ah right glad not just me, haha fair enough but there's nothing like a well timed break to keep us sweating is there. Yeah I am thinking the same of waiting for post tomorrow, if nothing then getting in touch, hence asking what people are up to and seeing what they think.

I was also taking the no news is good news approach, can't see why it would take so long to say no thanks. So I'm hoping that theory pays dividend.

The post getting lost was my major concern as it does happen, also the post getting to me is slow at the best of times also the earliest it gets here is 3pm so another long wait on that alone. Cool i guessed it would be that number.

I'm not sure about that. I get your theory but it seems more pot luck like stage 1 at Crewe and stage 2 being in Watford so could be anywhere. I'm north of Watford yeah I'm 12 mile from Crewe so I'm also hoping the Crewe depot myself as im not far from there all of 20min drive.

I think Phatdan is a Crewe lad him self so no doubt hoping for the same base him self.

Yeah good to know a few are still in the same boat and not just me, as long as the boat isn't sinking and stays afloat I'm happier haha. Yeah fingers crossed all round.

Hi mate , I'm from sunny Southend on sea so in an ideal world I'd get the job and be posted in tilbury/dagenham but that's in an ideal world .

I emailed Laura Gutten at FL and she got back to me within a couple of days but like you say , no news is good news .

Good luck

Any one going to be based at Bristol?

Have you been allocated Bristol also Hynod?

If so that'll be yourself, myself, spesh and jgooding that we know of but as you've pointed out, Bristol has 2 depots to choose from.

I'm going to be based at Crewe, anyone have an idea as to the routes I'll sign?

Guess it'll be all of the WCML down to Wembley and up to Carlisle, probably the S&C too. Possibly sign to Bristol, and I'm sure of signing at least up to Bescott.

As a new starter you'll probably be on coal work. Extremely varied route knowledge is already held at Crewe.

I've not long finished my training having been on the last internal graduate course so any questions I'd be happy to assist

Still good to know as it seems a few up in the same neck of the woods as me, londonlancs ect have yet to have had anything from stage 2 back yet.

That's a good call then, will have to send an email if nothing comes in post. Yeah still sticking to the no news is good new theory.

Hi all, Looks like I've been a bit late to the party. Shame I haven't found this forum earlier as it seems it might have been good to calm the nerves a bit during the recruitment process.
I'm starting on the 25th at Crewe for a week and then on to Ferrybridge for training. With my Depot as Being Doncaster.
Looking forward to getting started and meeting some of you, Cheers Dave.

I'm at crewe on the 25th it's good to hear that someone else has the same date everybody else on here seems to be starting on the 18th. I was beginning to think I had been sent the wrong dates

Looks like the People staying at Crewe are starting 18th and those going to ferrybridge are starting 25th ?

I did a quick run down to the training centre to see how long it would take to get there and it looks like there is plenty of parking at the ferrybridge one.

Hi all, new lad here.

I start at Crewe on the 18th and my depot is Doncaster.

I've been watching this thread as a guest for a while. I already work for freightliner and have done for over 6 years.

Shout up if you have any questions you feel I might be able to answer for you

Had mine there today.

I was the 12.15 interview.

I was surprised at how informal it was (compared to FGW who had about 12 CBI styled questions) and Rob kept quoting back 'as you know because you're on the railway' leaving little room to expand on subject

Applied for Crewe bit as its full, put many name down for Toton.

At the end I was told I was one of the 'top contenders'!

Now crossing everything!

Good luck to everyone else too!

Yes mate !!!

I'm at 1.45

You ?

Hi mate. How did it go? I was earlier on in the day. Mine seemed to go well. Like the poster above Toton was also put forward to me which would be great as its only 45 mins away from me going off route planner. Though from my research I wasn't aware Freightliner had a depot there.

All done and dusted now. Been a long few months, lots of travelling to crewe, watford and leeds. Fingers crossed it will all have been worth it!

Hi guys.

Mine was at 1.45pm today and was very relaxed.

Dagenham was put forward to me as i only live 40 min drive away so should that be seen as a positive sign?

i did say that i was more than willing to relocate anywhere but like i say it was him that put dagenham forward to me.
He also said that they do have positions there so fingers crossed.

Been a long old slog but will def be worth it if the job is offered if not i know i gave it my best shot.

Thanks to everyone on here for their advice and words of wisdom.............its been emotional.

I rang FLHH on friday just gone, LG said that they had just completed the interview process and that they could take another one to two weeks to get back to interviewees.

Right that's fair enough, when you say completed the interview process is that referring to the stage 2 CBI ect, or managers interview?

It was the managers interview in Leeds that she was referring to. They have interviewed everyone that they want to. I am still waiting for the result of my DM interview, but I dont think that I will be offered a place now, at best I may be on a reserve list if people fail the medical/reference stage, I am not holding my breath anymore for this one. Time for me to move onto Colas/DB Schenker.

DO you mean you are going to be based at Doncaster or that you are based at Doncaster already?
If the latter I've got a few questions.....

No currently based at Leeds. My classroom training is at Crewe and then when being mentored/qualified I'll be based at Doncaster

Anyone else heard anything back?

I was offered a position at Toton, subject to medical!

Obviously delighted, raring to go now. Not sure when medical will be just want to get it out of the way and contract signed.

Guessing it will be a January start as was suggested in the interview and judging by the comment above looks like it will be the 4th.

Best of luck to anyone waiting to hear back.

Hi, just to let you know about Doncaster, strictly speaking is not a depot, it's a signing on point, most of the time you will sign on at Ferrybridge.
