Yeah but that's still a year or two off. By which time even more electrification should have been completed.

Oh my god, it actually happened!

Are any changes to Southeastern trains in there as yet? Hoping for some of the improvements early to the Victoria-Dartford and Catford Loop services...
Only Catford changes announced are in 2015 they will go through to St Pancras evening and at weekends.
Apparently just weekday evenings according to that TSGN document. At weekends they are more than likely just to terminate at Blackfriars as normal which is a shame.
Some changes I've noticed already are Ayr-Glasgow Central now being 4tph throughout the week in addition to Saturdays, as well as the well-publicised changes on trans-Pennine services. I'm sure I'll find more!
Had a look and was really pleased to see an hourly through service from Blackpool North to Huddersfield, including a stop at Stalybridge. Ideal for visiting some of the best station bars in the country.
...and then realised there's no equivalent return, it goes to Wigan Wallgate instead.
Shame.
Wonder how many will do this one

Southport to Leeds via Atherton and Huddersfield and nearly all stops!!
There seems to be few odd new through working for Northern from May including this

Interesting that on the Fylde lines the times have been completely revamped. Clockface departures from Blackpool North off-peak as follows:
xx.03 Liverpool (now stops at Poulton too)
xx.11 York
xx.21 Huddersfield or Todmorden (via Man Vic)
xx.44 Man Airport.
Thats a weird one, a stopper which doesn't stop at Marsden & Slaithwaite
The link opens as 1714 Sheffield to Leeds via Dearne - nothing odd about that?
Ah. Will they all be going via Eccles then? Or have I missed another line being electrified? The TPE services from Manchester Airport to Edinburgh/Glasgow currently running through Bolton and Chorley finish the migration to via Wigan instead begun last December. A Liverpool to Newcastle direct service is introduced meaning the TPE North frequency increases to five trains per hour.

Been corrected; it's now the 1615 Adwick to Manchester Piccadilly (via Dore and Marple).
Journey time 2h15. Timed as a Pacer, of course.
It looks like Northern Rail must consider the boost to services at South Bank a success as they've kept it at an hourly service throughout the week (compared to 3/4 trains per day Monday - Saturday and nothing on Sunday as it was a year ago).

Quite unusual in that the Hope Valley stoppers are usually NW-based units and the Adwick-Doncaster-Sheffield etc aren't.
That one linked above looks like it turns round in Pl.1 at Manchester and forms the next one back to Sheffield

so maybe it stays "captive" to Yorkshire. The previous service to Adwick that forms it seems to start from Sheffield.
So, presumably, this is to move a set from the East side to the west side of Northern. I can't imagine the crew work through.
