Hi may i ask how did you get your ticket so cheap and what is the diagram for tonight, thanks.

I think I'm right in saying that it's first diagram starts next Friday - so nothing today unless the crew training runs are still working?

Think a Friday trip to London might be in order. Park at International, into Brum, Chiltern 67 to Marylebone, few hours in the smoke, then back out of Euston on 1903, though to New St then 2050 back to International for the car.

Birmingham Stations - Birmingham International Super Off-Peak Single is £2.20 and gives you the Pretendolino experience. ;)

90028 is the likely regular to be hauling WB64 so I have been told.

I forgot to quote your post, so you may not have seen it.

I am going in February and I am still on child-fares so it's half the price :D. I'm going from Birmingham New Street-Euston, staying over at my mates then coming back on the Chiltern silver set. The whole trip not including day-travelcards is about 22 quid.

I have heard that WB64 was out today at Euston with 90028, apparently it had a dragging break on the DVT and was cancelled. Will the WB64 still be running tomorrow?

It ran but due to the late running it was turned around at Birmingham International.

Looks like it's not running tonight - the ECS from Wembley was cancelled and if OTT/RTT are right 1G40 will be formed off 1A54 just arrived in platform 13 at Euston...

EDIT: confirmed, 1G40 formed 390125 tonight. :(

I heard it's a problem with the DVT that's why it was cancelled tonight.

That's what I've heard too - the brakes on the DVT seized yesterday on its run out... May not be back in service until the new year.

If so, it doesn't bode well for Virgin's Friday evening service - no significant incidents tonight and yet everything out of Euston is up to 20 mins late, all because they're down just one train.

Not superstitious but it is Friday 13th! Booked on this from BHM and wondered whether it would actually make it after the failed attempts back in the summer!

"DVT issues: 82126 is currently experiencing issues with the speedo or something along those lines and is now unlikely to be out tonight. Not doing very well after last nights failure as well. Sorry Folks!"

from the Virgin Loco Hauled Gen on Facebook. Brake issues were mentioned as well :P

It was late into Euston from depot but ran fine up to Birmingham and back (also late) - I was on it!

I think DRS should hire in 86101 and 87002 for the Pretendeleno set.
