Does anyone know if the pretendolino will be doing any New,st-Euston runs in the future, or is it just used on special workings these days.

There was a FL 90 shunting onto it early this morning when I passed the yard (ie 0630).

The VT twitter team have said that it will be seeing weekly Fridays only service when the new timetable is implemented. Anyone know what services it will run?

Nothing obvious in the timetable, the only FO service I can find is the 1846 to Preston that runs as present.

Would anyone like to enlighten us? ;) The 18:46 Euston - Preston is a Super Voyager if I remember correctly? Maybe they are using WB64 on that journey to free up the Super Voyagers to increase capacity on Chester/Holyhead and a Glasgow/Edinburgh service? Just a theory! It means less diesel running under the wires.

Is the resurrected 90 that is supposedly being dedicated to this going to receive a matching livery?

I heard somewhere that it was getting BR Blue, but I'm not sure. I wish VT had just outright purchased the now unemployed 87002 for the job, that would be truly something :P

A thread on another forum suggests DRS are going to hire a 90 from DBS to hire to Virgin. The 90 would be in DRS colours. Seems a bizarre arrangement though so we'll see.

90034 was meant to be getting patched up for a return, presumably with this hire in mind, but it's all gone quiet now. Anyone have any updates?

Oooooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk - that seems a very convoluted and unlikely arrangement! I would be interested in the contractual terms of that situation

Which forum was this on?

Fiddlesticks - it doesn't stop at Milton Keynes this time

My guess would be that DRS are providing the loco as part of the contract to provide the Thunderbirds. DRS are already hiring 92s from DBS if I remember correctly, putting these two together might explain it.

I hope this train doesn't become the train full of "enthusiasts" that the 1846 did.

It will though, it always does... Even though you can go round the corner / over the road for LHCS, since any LHCS is like any other LHCS IMO, unless you're at the front end...

Something rather nostalgic about Mk 3's on the West Coast though.

I missed out on the previous diagram so I think I might make an effort to get it this time.

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
its actually easier for me to get this time as it can be tacked onto the end of a trip south in my case - 20:50 BHM>EUS, Euston Tap, Burger King then more loveley loco action on the 23:40 EUS>EDB Lowland Sleaper.↲

Ummm... Burger King? Why?

I honestly don't know of a worse food in the country, and I'm including Travelodge Breakfasts...
