No, it is not. £9 is the cheapest tier Advance fare between Sheffield and London on EMT.

The £30 return "sale" is not really much of a sale imo, at least for Leicester. I have never paid more than £30 return on Advance fares in Standard.

In case like me you you do not check the Scotrail site that often and you are an Advance member. . . .

1. The offer is subject to availability. All outward travel must be completed by 28 February 2014. Return travel valid up to 1 month from outward travel date.

2. Each Advance member is entitled to purchase up to two £99 return First Class ticket on the Caledonian Sleeper, valid for travel in either direction.

Can you actually find any dates where this fare is actually available?

I'd like to do Euston to Fort William in February but can't get it to offer this fare.

Tried several dates and routes also. Cannot get the £99 offer on any service. Even on journeys where normal first class fares are available. I don't think this offer is coming up on their mixing deck. Very frustrating !

South West Trains are no longer offering discounts on TopCash Back (must be the 3rd time they have left the scheme!) Best discount now appears to be First TransPennine Express, who also give Nectar Points too, so looks like they will be receiving the majority of my online custom for the time being.

No presale sale for EC Reward members then.

They need to get their finger out. They're causing significant disruption for my employer, by forcing me to spend half of Monday morning looking through dates and fares.

If you're reading, East Coast, I'd quite like a "goodbye" sale as well. And a "hello" sale from Stagecoach/Virgin. And this sale had better be good.

Not that good, by the looks of things.

Hardly any weekend availability in February or March!

Had this from ftpe today:

There’s never been a better time to be 16-25. You’re young, wild and free. But best of all, you can now get half price train tickets when you use the tpexpress app. That’s right, when you use your railcard to buy First TransPennine Express Advance Purchase tickets on our free app or online, we’ll bump your usual discount up to a mighty 50% off. So grab life by the railcard and start spending the money you save on something spectacular.

Download the tpexpress app and enter TPESTUDENT or visit tpexpress.co.uk/students to get your discount.

Apart from the pretty poor Saturday availability, I thought EC's sale wasn't bad at all; a lot better than October's.

Pretty crap for me with no availability on the daily London to Hull service.

The East Coast sale is pretty good. The lack of Saturday availability is, as they've explained, due to engineering works throughout March.

The only problem is that the website is currently knackered. If anyone is stuck for availability come back in two hours. I've just made a booking, hitting refresh every time it said "error", and ended up with twelve return trips from London to Leeds for the same train in the basket

Got an email around 11 this morning telling me that the Big Seat Sale had started early for Rewards members.

I recieved this email at 1605 this afternoon! Bloody pathetic East Coast! Up your game.

Exclusive early sale access for Rewards members
The Big Seat Sale starts today and we are telling you first!

Rewards members always enjoy big advantages. That's why you’re one of the first to find out about the East Coast Big Seat Sale – your chance to grab a bargain ticket for travel on our route between London and Edinburgh, on East Coast trains, for travel from 17 January to 27 March 2015 (excluding 13-22 February, 28 February and 7 March).

That said, the link to the sale is gone from their splash screen. It was there at 1am today.

I read in this morning edition of North Wales rail newsboard, the over 55s ticket is back for a short period.
I'll let Charlie Hume the editor explain,

Club 55 offer is back,North Wales newsboard 6th January

Arriva Trains Wales 'Club 55' cheap fare for people 55 years old and older has re-appeared for another stint, until 28 February, with all travel to be completed by 7 March. The information on the website is just as muddled and ambiguous as usual (and the link on their email advert goes to a non-existent page), but it does appear that a ride on the new loco-hauled train from Manchester to Holyhead and back, or from Llandudno Junction to Manchester and back, is quite feasible, and the return fare for Senior Railcard holders (not Fridays) is just £22, or £23 without Senior Railcard. On payment of a supplement it is also possible to travel to London Marylebone on Chiltern's loco-hauled service.

If I could guarantee the loco hauled will be running, I'll do Wrexham/Chester/Holyhead/Manchester and return. So I'll book on the day to ensure the 0950 has left Piccadilly in its mark3 best suit and not a dressed down 175.

Donachie.

Tried the Advance Telephone booking option and was offered plenty of dates with £99 1st class Caledonian Sleeper Return offers places available. Seems the online booking engine has issues !!

Really - whatever happened to the £25 London to Edinburgh 1st Class Fares that used to be a feature of these sales ?

"or upgrade to a weekend ticket for just £17.50 per person"

That's new! Not aware of Northern doing that before with this offer.

Can I request that someone lets us know when papers have the tokens in? I'll need to order copies in (living in Crewe 'n' all).
