Doesn't look like tonight's move is on. Not left yet. Your first sighting of 118 then?
Which 378 has been oncauldwell all week, something to do with getting its feet wet? Yeah being stalked by 106 lol.

378?!
387111 got its 'feet wet' (and bearings etc, with 387105, one of the last few units through on Sunday morning when the water was at its worst, just before it was shut). Didn't sound good. Probably that one on Cauldwell.
Seems no Class 387s are about today unless there's a last minute alteration just when I fancied a snooze to Brighton too
I think we can officially add "387 seats" to the RailUK Forums bingo card, alongside LHCS 442s, AC 444s, North vs South, and Voyager toilets.
Saturday service is 6x 387 West Hampstead to Bedford along with 377s and 319s. South Farringdon to Brighton is 319s only.
Sunday on South side is 4x 387s, 2x 377s and 10x 319s. North is a mixture with 4x 387s out.
On Tuesday 387112/113 were together all day.
Obviously 387s are wholly unsuitable for the Ford at Farringdon and should be sent up north forthwith with our nice comfy 319s returned asap until the 700s come along.
They will appreciate the 387s up there. The seats are a slight improvement on pacer bus seats with the metal bar at mid back level. (only slight mind you)
Ok we will have them up north then, some people might be scared of some of the witchcraft on these trains though like air conditioning and a PIS system. and an interior which doesn't look as though its been dragged through a sewer admittedly some people might try to flog ironing board covers to the railway or even bring their own
Be patient! - you can have them when Thameslink has finished with them as they are busy doing a grand job at the moment. If you are desperate to sample La Dolce Vita di sud-est, then you only have to wait a couple of months until the knitting goes live on the Manchester-Liverpool lines, and the 'classic' London experience will be yours to revel in.Yep, You are welcome to the Torquemada's (a catchy new name for the 387s)

You forgot to mention "Are HST power cars locos?"
No, you lot keep your 387s down there and we'll keep your unwanted 319s up here! That'll teach you lot to moan about them...
Don't brand all of us with the whingeing of the few.
My apologies good sir! I suppose you'd best enjoy what's left of the 319s down there, even if it'll soon just be things like the Sutton loopers.

Coincidentally, I had planned to get a Thameslink Daysave last week and do the fast bits north of Luton in both a 387 and a 319, but of course the Farringdon grotto debacle spoilt all that.
Maybe the next week or so will still be possible before there are enough 387s to banish the 319s from the Bedford runs forever.
If anyone requires further information about the Thameslink Daysave please use the Thameslink Daysave thread, thanks (I have split the off-topic posts to that thread )Coincidentally, I had planned to get a Thameslink Daysave last week...
No 319 will be operating on the Sutton Loop in 2018. They are going else where. But not on Thameslink services.
Won't all the 700s will have been delivered by 2018 so not much news that isn't public (especially if you have read the TSGN ITT etc.)?Love it when you give a tit bit of info lol, any more firmer plans you can share!

I think that was the only bit westcoaster didn't care about. It was the other half of the post!
Is it safe to assume that the 387/2s which are to be built for Gatwick Express branded trains will be roughly the same inside as the 379s on Stansted Express branded trains?
Although that would be bonkers, you can fit another seat where that luggage rack is, worth more when they are handed over to another TOC and Gatwick Express branded trains get given something silly like a 313
