Evo-Stik Premier League

Blyth Spartans 3....Hyde United 0

No real surprise here, as Blyth Spartans are top of the league.

Hyde United now occupying the unlucky 13th position in the league.

I'm sure one of the teams in 21st to 24th positions would be happy to swap places in the league <D

Ended up 6-1. Great to see Kun getting his touch back.

Steve McLaren used to boast that he'd never lost to City.

Oldham have scored three goals in single match. (THREE :D)

Gillingham 3-3 Oldham

First time since April 11th that Oldham score more then one goal and first time since 29th Nov that Oldham score three goals away from home. :D

Very happy that they draw (knowing sixth straight away draw) as I was expect Oldham to lose today and we stay in 18th place but we are now on same point tally as Blackpool who are in 22nd in table

If only I had Aguero in my fantasy football team :(

Happy to see Aguero score five goals special as he my Capitan in my fantasy team.

Darren Kelly who got sack as Oldham boss on 12th September got appoint as Halifax manager on Thursday he first match was against Cheltenham and it didn't end too good for him or Halifax.

Halifax 1-7 Cheltenham

A combination of arrogance, complacency and the fact that their manager is an absolute idiot. His treatment of Carneiro was terrible but, unfortunately, unsurprising.

Will do me just fine.

As long as Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland keep up their level of performance and form I would be a very happy bunny.:p

Chelsea losing means we get to spin the Mourinho wheel of blame again. Surprising nobody it lands on the officials!

"That was a penalty. We don't get decisions and I think referees are afraid to give decisions to us."

That is more ridiculous than usual, Chelsea get more than their fare share of decisions in their favour. If only science could harness his ego for energy we'd make massive progress on CO2 emissions.

Petersfield Town 1...Winchester City 3 (Neal 90; Bentley 38 pen, 40, 73, Roberts s/o 67)

A fantastic victory over the team that beat City to the title last season and knocked them out of the Wessex League Cup. Both sides had chances in the early stages but two goals from Warren Bentley in quick succession put the visitors in the driving seat. Petersfield briefly rallied in the second half, with Adam Roberts sent off for a bad foul, but Bentley completed his hat-trick five minutes later and from there it was plain sailing. Winchester can now look forward to the visit of Weymouth, the Southern Premier League leaders, in the next round, while Petersfield must concentrate on the fight against relegation.

How many goals for Bentley now so far this season? Regardless of the level he's playing at, that's some scoring record he's amassing!

Hyde United 0...Stourbridge 2

Once again, the difference in class and ability of the playing squads between the top and bottom teams was cruelly exposed. This win now sees Stourbridge in 6th place and puts Hyde back down to 19th place.

Dick Advocaat leaves Sunderland with no "pay off" , what a refreshing change in the money grabbing environment of Football.

Who's next for this seemingly poisoned chalice ?

You wait one month for one dismissal and then two come along at once.

Not sure sacking Rodgers is the best decision for Liverpool, although they might get Klopp or someone similar that will work for them.

Man U. given a footballing lesson today from Arsenal.

General opinion seems to be this seasons top division is the poorest for some time, this is enforced when you see Man U. only 2 points off the top.

They look very pedestrian with a defence that is simply nowhere near good enough, Schweinsteiger also looks a shadow of a once top player whose best days are long gone.

Rooney for his 300 grand a week has been awful from the first day of the season but commentators seem reluctant to criticise him.

The league is there for Man City who need a tiny bit more consistency to be a truly great side.

You mean the defence that before today held the joint best defensive record in the league?

Credit where credit is due, Arsenal were fantastic today and came out of the blocks with immense purpose and pace. Man Utd had no idea what hit them, Darmian and Jones were poor, Mata was invisible and Scweinsteiger and Carrick were playing too far forward leaving plenty of space for Arsenal's pacy attackers.

Martial seemed positive when on the ball, Rooney struggled to get it into the game, and I question the logic of bringing on Fellaini who cannot play a pass other than a simple safe one.

If they can keep Aguero and Kompany fit...

On paper that may be true now but without buying some top class defenders I doubt that will be the same next May.

I would have thought Big Sam would be more of a fit for them, Rodgers would fit Villa though.

No thanks. While I am quite happy to see the back of Sherwood I wouldn't want the David Brent of football here. Right now as much as it pains me to say it I would have Alladyce in a heartbeat. If there is one person available at the moment that would pretty much guarantee staying up it's him. People say "but he plays such horrible football" well I have been watching pretty horrible football for the last 4 seasons. At least with Big Sam it would be horrible football played well

and he doesn't get relegated very often.

Would an ex Newcastle manager be welcomed by the fans? In honesty I would take BFS in their place

At Wolves we know all about horrible football and I would have Big Sam any day rather than the awful Jackett who is a nice guy but a pretty poor manager.

I think standards in the Prem are very poor this season hence Crystal Palace doing so well and West Ham winning at Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool.

As for Rooney apparently he hasn't scored a Prem goal away from Old Trafford in nearly a year which seems quite astonishing!
