Oldham 2-5 Southend

Oldham were very poor last night with Southend goals were all soft goals and our defenders and goalie should done better job, when we pull it back to 2-3 I felt we going to nick point but 60 sec later Southend end that when they went 4-2 up.

Oldham slip into bottom 4 after this results and now have big game against Crewe on Saturday, with Latics still haven't lost away (in league) this season I feel that will continue on Saturday knowing Crewe will be tough team to beat.

I know that this may only be typical football media gossip, but someone has stated that Manchester City have offered a figure of £800,000 a week in discussions with agents acting for Lionel Messi.

Appears to be no cash-flow problems for Manchester City or the iconic figure of Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyad.

And all that financial fair play stuff has been put out to the long grass.

What I should said was Crewe would become first home team to beat Oldham in league this season. :(

Crewe 1-0 Oldham

It sound like Latics wasn't even in game in first half and only improve slightly in second half, way Oldham are playing lately look like team that will end up been relegated come May.

We stay in 21st place but only point ahead of bottom of table Barnsley yeah only five points behind Doncaster who are sit in 15th place, it show you how tied it is at bottom half of League One.

Evo Stik Premier League

Hyde United 1...Frickley Athletic 1

Hyde scored in the 45th minute in this typical mid-table clash and it only took Frickley three minutes into the second half to equalise.

Hyde still in 10th place and Frickley still in 11th place.

Don't know what we've let ourselves in for with the new man. 6 games in and he's lost them all. Desperately signed young inexperienced loan players to cover areas like centre back where we had more than capable mature experienced players. The risk looks to have backfired. We've conceded 11 goals in the last 135 minutes of play (A goal every 12 minutes)

Thrilled to bits with Derby's victory last night. Honestly didn't see that coming. Hull are a very good Championship team but we were better. Derby dominated for the first 60 minutes but even at the end Tom Ince should have scored. I think Hull will go up as Champions but Derby will certainly give Hull a run for their money.

Bridgwater Town 2...Winchester City 4 (Anthony 72, Klein-Davies 88; Glasspool 2, 59, Barron 20, Bentley 67)

Winchester City defeated Bridgwater in dreadful conditions but allowed the hosts back into the game after switching off in the last twenty minutes at 4-0. Coupled with North Leigh's loss at Tiverton, City climb to second, but remain seven points behind Cinderford who beat Bashley 10-1 after being 7-0 up in 33 minutes.

I've forgotten which team you are. Newcastle isn't it? My cousins other half went to Palace yesterday. I found it necessary to say to him on Facebook that at least he saw plenty of goals!

Gerry Byrne, the defender who played all his football with Liverpool, has died. He was most famous for his part in defeating Leeds Utd in the FA Cup Final of 1965,playing on despite breaking his collarbone in the seventh minute (no subs in those days!)

I don't know but when you think about who is available who would come in then you realise we're pretty much stuck with him for the time being. I think I said 6 months myself so he gets that.

Spanish media reporting Real Madrid will be disqualified from copa del rey for playing an ineligible player this evening. Some sources are reporting two players ineligible.
It is suggested goalscorer Denis Cheryshev should have been suspended for this game after collecting three bookings for Villarreal in last year's competition.

One television station then claimed young forward Borja Mayoral should not have been on the bench after he was sent off in last season's Youth Cup Final - although this has not been confirmed.

Winchester City 2...Wimborne Town 1 (Benham 71, Bentley 79; Waters 85, Davidson s/o 90+2)

The scoreline really flattered the visitors as three shots from the home side were cleared off the line in the first half. The hosts continued to press and eventually went ahead with 20 minutes to go before talisman Warren Bentley doubled the lead eight minutes later. The visitors pulled one back with five minutes left but were reduced to ten men in stoppage time and Winchester held on to remain second.

League Cup...Quarter Final

Southampton 1...Liverpool 6

Liverpool made little of going 1-0 down at the start of this match and recorded a most emphatic away win. Good to see that Sturridge scored a couple of goals.

Semi-Final Draw

Everton v Manchester City

Stoke City v Liverpool

I see two of Scottish teams that get mention on here stuffer heavy defeat last night.

Turriff United 9-0 Fort William
Fraserburgh 7-0 Rothes

A statement issued by the Chairman of Oldham Athletic in response to a query raised why their players were not paid when they played against Crewe Alexandra at the weekend says the outstanding monies will be forthcoming this Wednesday.

Is one big joke Oldham is having this year and from local Oldham chronicle paper is believe that is third months in row that Oldham Athletic players and staff haven't been paid so not just last months that haven't been paid.

This Saturday Oldham are in FA Cup Second round action and if they beat Sheff Utd they get £27.000 which be boost for Latics plus probably trip to one of big teams in third round, lose and I feel money wiser at Latics will get lot worse special if we get relegated to League two come May. :(
