I pass by regularly and believe this is a recent development: or perhaps I've just not been paying attention?
The canopy at Marine - the poor state of which was, if I recall, the reason given for the cessation of non-ECS workings - has gone.
Clearly, this removes the last obstacle to the recommencement of loco-hauled boat trains from Manchester.
The Network Rail test train with 2x class 73s was berthed there at 07.20 this morning.
